Truth About Global Warming

The elephant in the room is China. They account for so much of the pollution and are unaccountable to anyone.
Not really despite a lot of their pollution being as a result of manufacturing stuff for us, their pollution levels aren't too bad just there's a lot of them.

If the eu, China and us were the same size the pollution share would be 10, 11 and 22 percent.

People tend forget that the climate change movement is an 'industry'.

Sigh.

Not having a go at you mate, but what chance do our children have when so many people think like this, encouraged by morons in power like Trump.

It’s easy and lazy to squabble and shout “fake!” Or “conspiracy!” Encourages many more to do same.

It takes more effort to read the actual reports of the scientists studying the climate on this planet. The reports make uncomfortable reading.

It’s a bit like being an alcoholic. To address the issue first the alcoholic needs to move out of the comfort zone and admit there is a problem. When it’s easy to stay in the comfort zone then nothing will get fixed.

I struggle to look my children in the eye when I think about their future, and I’m not a CC Denier. I don’t know how that bunch can do it.

There is also evidence that our GHG figures are skewed, only looking at cycles from the 1970s to 2009.

Look at the cycles from the 1920s to right now and you'll see weather hasn't changed that much and the temperature has risen only moderately.

A good sentence from that video is 'scientists define what the results of global warming will be - not the science itself', and that, is scary.
It was warmer in the middle ages than it is now and people seem to forget, trees and plants depend on Co2 to produce oxygen.

nothing sinister in that speech mind.

I think the reason governments are peddling global warming is because it's fashionable at the moment. All of the left wing scientists and mainstream news are into it because it's the thing of the moment. It's like the hole in the O Zone layer years ago or the millennium bug. I seriously think it's just all to do with what's fashionable to complain about at a certain time.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a denier - but I do question whether or not what we are being told is true. There’s no doubt humans have changed the climate, but to what extent is debatable IMO.

That video provides decent balance and information about how the reports are collated.

And when I say ‘climate change industry’ I question who is making money from all this ‘change’.

It is inevitable that people will make money from both sides. That’s how the system works.

The data shows clearly climate change happening over a very short (relative to historical changes) period of time and is extremely strongly correlated to human’s CO2 output.

Even if the scientists do have it wrong..... is it worth ruining the planet by n it acting now?? We should have acted decades ago. So it’s almost certainly too late already. However we could act now to be prepared for floods, enormous migrations or affected people, droughts, crop failures and rising sea levels.

It'll take a unified global effort to stop this. That will only happen when those in charge are suitably threatened. Somewhere of global importance is going to have to become uninhabitable for that to happen, unfortunately.

I'd be looking at implementing a technological solution. No chance we're going to convince China and then the rest of the world from chasing the same standard of living we have. We'd have a cheek if we tried. However, we could convince China, Russia and the US to work together on a solution which allows industrialisation to continue.

Typical scientists! Always letting fashion and their political leanings dictate their findings.

...but we shouldn’t need to. Presumably they want a planet fit for habitation for their children too?

Jesus man.

Right lads, I’ve got it sussed.

Export the CO2 to the moon and plant trees there to convert the CO2 to Oxygen. Two birds. One stone. Will be class seeing the moon with clouds and that.

Governments will ignore this until they are directly under imminent threat. Kicking the can.
Agreed. A symptom of the short-term nature of governments made up of power-hungry individuals. When you get people who genuinely care about the future of the planet their policies are dismissed as mad because they favour the planet over the profit of the individual. It means they are rarely elected (an exception being with liberal, thoughtful, intelligent and caring constituents - no surprise Caroline Lucas is MP of Brighton rather than Hampshire or Cotswolds.

Let’s just say we all woke up in a hypothetical world where all the experts agreed with that fella, and concluded that global warming wasn’t man made, and was an entirely natural phenomena.
Would we still be trying to stop it?
