Coxhoe Classic Car Show

tbh i think it's one of the best shows around here. some can be a bit snobby if they're not pristine or of a certain marque. i remember years ago when two old blokes were arguing like buggery over two similar bikes absolutely pristine but one had a copper head gasket instead of a composite one.
what makes coxhoe good is the variety and every machine there is someone's pride and joy.
Aye bit of everything there. Lupo on airbags was nice too although not much of a classic

Yeah some lovely cars. Was in my mates mk1 golf love that motor. Liked the green merc too at the back can't remember the year or model of it like.
Looked like a mid 70s w123 series love them
Had a ride down about 6 and it was winding down a bit
Nice stuff .Shame it was freezing

Just got back decent turn out with the potential for a down pour. Some nice motors there. Highlight for me was the black oval window beetle.
I took that to the show. It was first registered in 1954 and now has a 2.3 litre Porsche engine fitted.
Sadly it belongs to my brother.

I think I was chatting to you at one point having a look at the motor. Lovely car be worth a canny few quid now I bet. Prices just keep rising on the early air cooled stuff.

You never know what's going to turn out in the Coxhoe show. I was one of the stewards so I didn't get chance to have a good look at the cars apart from when they were entering.
The Plymouth Coupe was breathtaking and unknown in local American car shows.
It was great to see the Mathewsons from the Bangers and Cash TV series. Top blokes.
Hopefully it'll be a little warmer at next year's event.

It's kind of sad to see the prices going through the roof. I love pre 1960 ripple bonnet 2CVs but your looking at upwards of 20 grand nowdays.

Another great turn out even though it was freezing.

Well done the fellas who organise this.

Highlights were chips and gravy in the cafe and couple pints in blacksmiths on the way home

Love the old xr2’s nova and Astra GTE

Are they not just "cars" in coxhoe rather then classic ones?
eh? Is this another Durham village joke ?cos the last one didn't do very well either

There was a really clean grey fiesta popular. I always find these cars interesting as they are probably rarer than there more desirable models and you find yourself wondering who the hell saved it all these years . My mates mk1 golf is similar is a 1.5gl with a 3 speed auto box. According to how many left website it's the only one on the road in the country.

He got his from an old boy in Boldon who had it from new. Had a heart attack and couldn't drive anymore. Only had a bout 60k on the clock and came with original bill of sale etc.

Used to be class john’s fish bar , every Saturday dinner time over my nanna’s. Changed hands a few times now I think, happy days.
Wonder if he's still got that elastoplast on his finger
It's on tomorrow Tuesday 11 June. It's normally a great show in Coxhoe's Front Street and about 300 vehicles turned up last year. It's starts at 4:30 and goes on until about 8:00ish. Free entry so it's well worth popping in if you're in the area.
Not the best weather forecast for tomorrow but hopefully there may be some dry weather come late afternoon.
Wish I'd known was in Coxa on Monday would have stayed an extra day.Would love to find an old Wolseley 1500 any at the show?
