I would agree in part...seemed after his sprog was born he went over the cliff. He also had a baby and was his his first full season. There are other potential reasons for his drop in form.
So it is possible that he was playing above himself because it was his first full season and and couldn't maintain it for the whole season and also possible that he couldn't maintain it because of the additional responsibility of having a baby. The contract issue is also possible but it is certainly the least generous interpretation of his season's form.I would agree in part...seemed after his sprog was born he went over the cliff.
based on he rejected a contract offer that was at the amount he wanted then went and cleared his locker..people clear ther locker when they are leaving..he strung safc along to set the wage level for his next move..Based on what? The lad was excellent up until he left.
His all round touch and play was actually good aswell, he was comfortably the best player in the division. Also made goals for himself like against Peterborough and Barnsley.
Nah...I watched this lad play his first game in one of the league cup games about four years ago and thought he was one of the brightest things Sunderland has produced and I've seen quite a few in my time. He has however, not progressed sufficiently enough to say that any further improvement will be above his current level. It may well be due to his new family or the burden of a new contract ,who knows?, but i do not reckon any improvement will happen sad to say...This is the lads level. So it is possible that he was playing above himself because it was his first full season and and couldn't maintain it for the whole season and also possible that he couldn't maintain it because of the additional responsibility of having a baby. Why speak which such certainty about something that you couldn't possibly know?
The absolute opposite of what you said is just as realistic, even SD thinks he may have been able to do better at keeping him, he certainly underestimated the cost of unsuccessfully replacing.
This is a massive advocate for proper analysis, while SD may find any statistics boring, had he employed someone to use these findings, it may have alerted SD earlier to Maja's importance and prompted him to provide what was requested earlier in negotiation. It's of huge importance to question our own perception.
We need a creative number 10 its as simple as that like. Honeyman offers nothing to that role.
There was a creation one that I didn't throw up, top 50, Gooch was on but Honeyman wasn't.
I have read that a few times and i still have nee idea what it means
As in how I put the graphs up in the OP for most dominant CBs. There was a one for attacking wide midfielders iirc
What 'analysis' are you talking about??
The club weighed up the pros and cons and with the confirmation that the player himself wanted to leave, they acted accordingly.
Hindsight is a great thing!!
Was there one for best number 10's?
Statistically Eaves and Marquis were the lads to watch. That's why I think it's an absolute no brainer why we should sign Eaves on a free when the lads only asking for £2000 a week.
Irrelevant to us as he'd have been worth a few hundred grand probably. If he'd wanted to stay, even till the end of the season he would have. People keep making it sound like the club forced him out, but they couldn't force him into signing a new contract so that doesn't ring true.
Lameiras is the boy, likeI'll find out. Sure Honeyman would be included in mine just didn't make top 50. Just looking at some of the names on there
