When They See Us - Netflix

Was just going to start a thread on this, hard but compelling viewing. The Donald Trump involvement! This should be brought up as much as the overheard comments about grabbing women!
Already common knowledge about trump over there but he does/says so much batshit crazy stuff that nobody gives a shit.

Just 3 years ago he was saying they were still guilty. Absolutely insane.

To think some people were criticising the protests against him. He is so dangerous.

It’s a really hard watch. But it’s a depiction with a clear agenda to major on the wrongs of the police who are almost comedically biased and corrupt and paint the boys as choirboys whilst barely mentioning the victims.

I remember the original attack, the furore it caused and the trials. There still seems to be a huge school of thought that the boys were actually involved in the attacks in addition to the guy who has now confessed and is in jail. An independent commission post their conviction vacations found that in all likelihood they were involved in both the assaults and the rape.

So it seems to be one of those which could be one of the worst miscarriages ever or something which has a very inbalanced message to make good tv.

Seen it and it is a tough watch like.

If anyone found it interesting, there was a film starring Daniel Day Lewis about the Guildford Four - quite a similar theme to it.

Called ‘In The Name of The Father’ if anyone wants to watch it.

Mini series about the 'Central Park 5'. I had never heard of this before. 5 black boys accused of rape, coerced by police to confess.

It's very hard to watch, I felt so uncomfortable during the first eepisode. Highly recommend.
Thought it would be hard to watch.. I'm out I hear too much shit

Read abput it a few years ago, watched some of the question and answers, still made this a tough watch, especially Korey Wises story

Sorry mate but from what I’ve read it’s still something that extensively splits opinion over there down the middle. Much more than just mud-sticking.

Obviously I have no idea at all whether they did it or not. A tv series, as good and as powerful as it is, doesn’t change that.

I don't think it does split opinion, a quick search on Google brings nothing up either, the fact that it's proven they weren't even in that part of the park when it happened, and none of them left any DNA, rember these were 14 to 16 year olds that had no idea abput DNA, I fail to see how it splits opinion. Anyway you can back up you saying it splits opinion with articles egg, because I actually just think you are making it up. The only thing is trump again in 2016 saying they did it and people still believing because they admitted guilt they did it, but we no the reasons why they admitted guilt. And trump will have an alterior motive

:lol::lol::lol:
You must be shit at googling.

So a part from what I've said there's fuck all

You could start with the Armstrong Report.

Then maybe the election tickets of the likes of Giuliani and Bloomberg where they refused to settle wrongful conviction claims even post conviction vacation because of the controversy it engendered.

And then there’s the good old NYT archive which has loads of stuff in it.

Or you could just believe that Netflix is gospel. I really couldn’t give a fuck.

Anyways, back to the OP. Series is well worth a watch and the kids who portray the boys are excellent.

The Armstrong report 2002?? Fairly obvious why they delayed settlement don't you think!? However they then got a record breaking pay out.
