7 - Living in Barmston. At Primary School, finding it a piece of piss.
14 - Monkeyhouse Senior School, loved it.
21 - Liverpool Uni doing a degree in Applied Biochemistry. Out getting pissed loads.
28 - Back in Kibblesworth after the conversion of the NHS to trusts made it impossible to get a job, had taken a job in a warehouse so as not to be on the dole.
35 - Had my own home, married, son was born and was doing well in my career progressing to a Financial Controller at the Centre for Life after passing CIMA.
42 - Progression in my career meant I obtained my first FD role, divorced, living in a differing apartment to the one I am in now but in the same complex.
49 - Fuck kna's I'm only 46

7 - Living at Wear View. At Primary School, finding it a piece of piss and generally being top of the class.
14 – Comp, finding it a piece of piss and generally being in the top two or three of the class, without really trying. Year above the OP and I think I remember him, but I haven’t revealed myself to him, no idea if he’ll remember me.
21 – Having done A Levels but not uni I was bouncing around various office jobs
28 – Settled in a job, married, living in TEF, no kids yet.
35 – Young daughter, same job, watching football, drinking beer and holidaying abroad in tourist traps on the Med/Canaries.
42 – Teenage daughter, same job, watching more football, drinking beer and holidaying abroad in tourist traps on the Med/Canaries.
49 – Daughter now 20, still at home, same job, mortgage paid off, watching even more football, drinking more expensive beer and holidaying abroad more often but still in tourist traps on the Med/Canaries.

7 - Airfix kits and toy cars. Had just moved to Aycliffe
14 - Still not happy about that like.
21 - Had buggered off to Kent, homeless hostels, not a care in the world
28 - Lost Mam, found a wife and immediately lost her to mental illness, made redundant
35 - 42 long and settled period working in college/uni, lost Dad and brother
49 - Made redundant again and became a Dad of 4 all within a few months, some of the best and worst bits so far. 56 is gonna be brilliant though.

7 - St Margaret's primary school, Durham. Living in Nevilles cross with my mam, parents probably going through a divorce around this point.

14 - Had moved to Langley Moor by this point, going to school at Johnston. Was the year I started going out on the piss in town, started bunking off school, chasing lasses etc.

21 - Finished uni, total waste of time, continued to bunk off, appalling attendance, drank way too much and put on loads of weight to be a right fat twat. Moved into a rented house with my lass at the time back in Witton Gilbert, Durham. Had a stores/van dirving job as I figured out what I wanted to do.

28 - Two lasses later, back living in Nevilles Cross in a rented flat with my future wife. Generally enjoying life, good social life, couple of recent holidays including Aruba, trip to Amsterdam, Cyprus. Working for an electrical wholesale company in the lighting design department.

35 - Since 28 my gran had died which was a huge loss for me, she was like a second mother to us, mam had to work a lot and she looked after us most days as children. Bought a house in Brandon. Married. Two children, twins, who are coming up to 2 years old, one of whom has been battling a rare neurological issue since late last year and most likely will be for the next decade. Hope for some better news when I'm 42.

14 - Now in Pennywell estate/school. about to drop out cos it was such a depressing, soul-crushing place.
21 - Moved to Portsmouth and had a job at Royal Mail. Shagging owt with a pulse. Brother died
28 - Settled down with 1st nipper, still at RM.
35 - Married and divorced with another nipper. Still at RM (just). Another nipper.
42 - Complete career change and moved back to Sunderland.
49 - Now back living and working in Portsmouth.

7 - Primary School in West of Scotland, my grandad who had started the Paisley &District Amateur League so that local lads didn’t have to travel to Fort William and Stranraer in the West of Scotland league, took me to the Celtic v Dunfermline Scottish Cup Final. Awesome memory as the man I loved died suddenly three months later.

14 - Secondary school in Paisley. I did quite well but really didn’t enjoy it. Frequently bullied because I was 6’2” and soft as shite.

21 - Got a job with Midland Bank in Hull. I really enjoyed it, I was engaged to a wonderful girl (who’ll still feature when I do my 63 bit). I had fallen in love with Hull KR who had their 1973 in 1980 and ever since have pretty much mirrored Sunderland, relegations, relegation fights, even relegated to a golden point v Salford with literally the last kick of the game when we had been two tries ahead with 80 seconds left.

28 - Life changed so much in those seven years, left Midland to join Co-op Bank with a 50% pay rise (£5,000 to £7,500 overnight and now had three kids under 5. Absolutely skint, but could not have been happier.

35 - We had moved to Sunderland, I had left the bank like more or less everybody else. I was now an IFA and just finding my feet. The kids were happily going through school but new self employment meant tough Financial Times. Sunderland had now joined HullKR in my affections and provided a similar level of joy, despair and frustration.

42 - New millennium and life carried on. The kids were happy at the top end of school, I’d had to set up a new company to escape a partner who had been sent to jail for fraud and theft which was horrible at the time but led to better things. We moved to a lovely new home that year which was great for the family.

49 - Just the two of us at home again. It was great to have the kids close by and we had a five year old granddaughter, my princess.

56 - A funny time. Bad bit first. We had problems with the company with only three of us left. It was always 2v1 and I was the 1! The kids were all happy with partners and we had two more grandkids. One of the partners was from New Zealand which has resulted in many happy trips over there, some new friends and at least five people in Hamilton sporting SAFC shirts. We’re still very happily married after nearly 40 years.

I must sound really boring, if that’s what you think, thank you, I wouldn’t swap it for anything.

Hopefully to be continued.................
