I’ll enjoy the intellectual contortions as they try to claim they were always comfortable with Chelsea and City buying the league.

That said, it’s unlikely they’ll become genuinely successful. Different landscape these days. They’ll improve though, no doubt.

People are getting a bit carried away tbh. Whilst the mags should be happy, they also need to be realistic. FFP was introduced to stop another City and it’s going to be very hard for them to break the top 6.

It does put Rafa under pressure though. If he gets money, expectancy will increase hugely

The FFP definitely means it has to be more long term than instant success, but if this bloke is one of the UAE ruling families then he isn't going to concede with just being a top ten team, if necessary they'll use their influence to ensure they become part of the upper echelon.

Calm down everyone, the top 6 is sewn up for the foreseeable future unless a new owner is prepared to take a massive gamble and throw half a billion in the transfer kitty on top of the £350m purchase price. All this will mean is that they’ll guarantee survival a few months earlier and may finish 7th or 8th.
Plus you can’t even do that nowadays anyway. FFP

f***ing hell, if they become successful we are looking at the extinction of SAFC supporters in areas such as Durham and South Tyneside.
Aye not many Billionaire owners in the prem. I can see them dominating the league, and City,Liverpool,Chelsea,Spurs,UTD,Arsenal,Spurs,Everton, leicester , Wolves etc just moving aside to let them to glory. The twats would twist on 21 man.

Thing is, who will get buy? I mean they might have loads of money.... but so do City,United,Liverpool,Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Real, Barca, PSG, Juventus...
So that would rule them out of any of the world class players,
They will be paying big money for the likes of Wilfred Zaha 80m, a player who would be exciting but would he get them into the top 4? I doubt it,
Look at West Ham, how much have they splashed in the last 2 seasons, or even Everton last year? They now have a billionaire owner and the starting base for them with the players they had was far superior to Newcastle’s,
Obvious why you would be excited as a Newcastle fan, but as we know with mags, would you be shocked if they started twisting if they were not in the top 6 with in a year?
Itll be interesting to see how it plays

I’m not worried about their money, I just hope they don’t have the same intelligent outlook the City owners have in terms of the development of the infrastructure and Academy.

That would change the landscape far more than chucking £300m at the first team would (not that they’ll be able to do that anyway).
