General Sale

One of the issues that our lot (sorry if already mentioned, it's a long thread) have with Ticketmaster sales is access to a bank account. For the CheckaTrade we sold face to face from the Ticket Office on the Wednesday and Thursday (Additional tickets available ).
I was down both days you needed a customer number but there was a steady queue to the door both days. 75% of the transactions were cash. They even designated 2 of the windows as cash only.
This surfaces whenever fuel poverty is on the agenda. The number without accounts in the Northeast is considerably higher than the national average.

How long do you think it would take a courier to get batch of tickets up from Manchester, a couple of hours maybe? Then ready to go on sale in the morning.
But why, they’re on sale now and can be collected at Wembley, why take them off sale and lose any sales in meantime, it doesn’t make sense

Living in my, I suppose some would call a middle class ivory tower that hadn’t occurred to me and makes sense

Really surprised and disappointed that we haven't sold out
Not that I don't want phase 3 to happen and I hope that we DO sell out after Phase 3 but I find it amazing that we sell more and quicker for the Check-a-f***ing-trade trophy than our most important game in years
it's Wednesday now. if you don't know a season ticket holder or have shelled out 40 quid to be a member then you'd have had no chance. Piss up in a brewery again

They don’t need to make a loss. I understand the point about the animosity but from a personal point of view it doesn’t bother me although I know it would some - my tickets and transport were sorted Friday. Just want to see the club do as much as they can to get the tickets shifted.

I'm usually in agreement for cost effective football but there is a limit, if the club believe they need to help I would rather they offered a payment plan. Same as you my travel was sorted Thursday tickets Friday - I put this all on an interest free credit card and will pay this over the interest free period so why can't others do that.

The club do need to look at how they sold the tickets 4 days for season ticket holders then 2 days for season ticket holders (the same people ) to flog the rest was never going to work.

Sadly the club let the ticket office manager go last year, and I get the impression there now is just inexperienced staff in there, who wouldn't be able to give meaningful direction to the owners; hence the current mess.

must have missed that . ... FANS OUT
Should have gone to Specsavers :)

Further Play-Off Final ticket update
Due to additional tickets now being made available, supporters are able to purchase up to SIX tickets per customer number in phase three of the Wembley sales process.

PHASE THREE
Phase three is open to any supporter who was previously registered to purchase a ticket for the Chectkatrade Trophy final (ie had a purchase history on the club’s database before the Checkatrde Final).
This sales phase opened at 9am on Tuesday 21 May.

I basically typed a post saying the same about plenty local who can't get a current account or credit card this morning but decided not to post it because I felt loads on here would think it was balls. A lot of wannabe rich folk on here who don't realise just how tough times are for some good folk from the area.

I must admit, I noticed a few down Wembley that only had cash and were angry that the kiosks were only accepting card.

Many who don’t have a bank account will either be low income or on benefits.
I know it is choice but I would imagine the cost of a ticket, travel etc would be too high.

There’s plenty of experience in the ticket office just too few staff members to make it work for a Wembley final.

The amount of baulking at the price of the beer down there was very noticeable too. At Half time a retired aged couple were chatting to me for 10 minutes, not about the first half and McGeady's free kick but the price of the beer and what a rip off it is

Agree - I know some of the staff in there have been there since the ground opened.

I know we are talking about Wembley which is dearer but there are plenty of places in London which are as cheap if not cheaper than some of the pubs in the centre of Durham.

Because that one was guaranteed at the time - this one wasn't

Also the 'reward' from that game was an actual trophy (albeit a very minor one) The 'reward' from this game is playing all of next season in a higher division, which everyone will enjoy and benefit from - whether they go to Wembley or not?
This game is a bigger one than the checkatrade by a mile . If you went to the check atrade you should be supporting the lads v charlton

Unless -

A) you just went to the cheka for the crack and the weekend away

B) You cant afford it, or have plans

C) it's got fuck all to do with anyone else

Or have plans? Fair enough if you can’t afford it but surely to fuck if you go to the games then charlton in a play off final should be in your plans ?
