Lou's Fine Ales and Beers

Thats one of the reasons why I stopped going. Poor choice when I was last in a few months ago anarl. Dunno if the opening hours are more stable now but despite only being a few miles away it's not worth the risk. I can get to Hop Knocker in Durham in not much more time than it takes to get to Lou's and i've been in Newcastle a lot recently so been to Centrale a few times.

Anyone kmow Lou's opening times now, and just as importantly are they reliable?

well i checked facebook and it said 2pm opening, i was there at 2.30 ish. unless they have different opening times for different days.

it's only 10 minutes away from where i work so it's handy, or at least thats the theory
 
Went in for the first time last week.

I liked it, got some beer which I didn’t particularly like.

Found the bloke a bit dim and not that knowledgeable.

Think I spoke to the organ not the monkey grinder.

that's great that mind.

i don't mean to seem like i'm taking it out on you at all. or him, i get on with him and it's his business and up to him how he runs it. but if he wants customers to go out of there way to get there you can't be so slack with opening times.

i do me food shop at tesco and it would take an extra few minutes to grab a nice selection of beer. i can live with the half hour round trip,, i can live with paying a bit more (alot more) to support a local business and smaller breweries but if i've made that effort to find they can't be arsed to open on time then it's hard to find a reason to go back again.

you should probably get them to change facebook then as it says it opens at 2pm

I said most days as he opens at 2pm on others. 2pm on Fridays and Saturdays I think.

not friday just gone he didn't. and i've been there after 3 to find it shut anarl. i know other people who have stopped going there on account of it being shut when they turn up, theres probably a fair amount off this thread alone.

it might sound simple enough but i'm not going to keep checking the opening times on facebook i can't be chewed. shops have opening hours for a reason, so people know they can go and it will be open.

anyhow i don't want to keep complaining so i'll just leave it at that. sorry to rant at you

Similar to untappd although untappd does a lot more as well.
