Tony Cascarino's claims that he was ineligible to play for the Republic of Ireland could lead to him losing the record-breaking 88 caps that he won for his country, the Football Association of Ireland warned yesterday.

The FAI is to investigate Cascarino's revelation that the Irish grandfather who allowed him to be eligible to play for his country was not a blood relative. The striker said that his mother told him in 1996 that she was adopted and that his "grandfather" was, therefore, not her natural father.

Cascarino, who last played for Ireland against Turkey last November, won a further 24 caps for his country after his mother's bombshell. He also shared a lucrative testimonial with Steve Staunton in a match against Liverpool in Dublin in May.

at present yes but we've been linked with Souttar who won't get a look in if he signs and have signed Jake Hastie and Greg Stewart who won't get a look in now either regardless of how well they play.

both Jack and McCrorie are good enough to play for Scotland like when you consider the nation we're talking about got humped 3-0 off Kazakhstan.

of course there's 4 or 5 Scottish Celtic or ex Celtic players that can be picked so they'd rather select them and get humped 3-0 off nobodies. These so called superior players that are selected time and time again can't be that good if Kazakhstan can play them off the park.

we're talking about a nation that got humped off Kazakhstan and the team that finished 2nd in Scotland can't get a single player in the squad/team.

David Bates is now Scotland's centre half. Was considered a clown at Rangers, could only dream of playing for Scotland, complete joke figure, he left Rangers in July 2018 and by November 2018 he's in the Scotland team. :lol:

the bitterness is not even hidden anymore. I'm sure the bitter alky who stood waving at an empty Rangers end on Sunday will work night and day to change that.

I've just heard Clarke's press conference from today. The main topic of conversation? How harshly treated Steve Clarke was 30 years ago. Woe is me. I deserve better. It's not fair. They were nasty to me. Blah blah blah. He's just landed the 'dream job' and he's spent the time with the press whinging about missing out on Italia 90. Unbelievable. :lol:

he also used the term "touch base". Sackable offence in itself.
