Single player RPG games

Have you considered Assassin’s Creed Origins or Odyssey? I haven’t played Odyssey but it’s supposed to be better than Origins. AC fanboys love to whinge that they’re much more RPG based than the previous games.

There was a cracking one I had on the 360. Last odyssey I think it was called. Maybe lost odyssey, something like that.

Lost Odyssey - I really really like the game (the difficulty curve to the first boss is a bit out as I recall - not often you need to grind a bit to clear boss number 1) but very very much a traditional turn-based JRPG. If you like the older Final Fantasies it's definitely worth a look at - Uematsu did the music for it and I love the main theme (mind you Uematsu could make a microwave ding tone and I'd probably think it was superb).

I remember losing many, MANY hours to that game.

Underrated classic.

Lost Odyssey. From the creator of Final Fantasy.
Aye, that’s the one. Fantastic game. I spent many many hours on it.

Also Lord of The Rings: The Third Age is still a fantastic game if you’re prepared to look at outdated graphics. I’ll get stick for saying it, but, it’s better than FF7 in my Tolkien-tinted opinion.

Not played it, but Earthlock looks pretty decent. Think it's available cheap at the moment as well.

Witcher 3 has been mentioned a lot. I'm still a fan of the first and second ones too on PC. First one hasn't aged brilliantly, but still good fun if you haven't played them, two is a very good game. Dragon Age 1, 2 and Inquisition too. 1 (Origins) and Inquisition are the best, Second one is pretty average,

Fallout 3 and 4
GTA 4 5 etc
I really like turn based games. I've beeen playing Dota underlaords recently and before that GWENT.

Another shoutout for witcher 3
Some TBS games i've loved over the years
Kings bounty legends
Deadage -zombie indie game

Persona 5 the Royal released end of last month. Beefed up version of the original Persona 5 which is one of my favourite games of all time. Naturally invested in it again and it's once again become a time sink for me. 100% must buy imo, especially if you haven't played the original.

Don’t think I’d gan that far haha! Good game though, used to have it when I got my crystal Xbox years ago.

I fancy an RPG for my Switch, I'm thinking about Fire Emblem, seems to be reviewed quite well, any opinions from on here? In all honesty I'm not usually a massive RPG fan, but I fancy giving something a go

It's very good. Not a fan of the series in general but this one is excellent. It's definitely a proper RPG. I'm not very far into it but already been faced with a few huge choices which effect the storyline one way or another.

The combat is very good, souls like in a way and its always better when the attack is controlled by the trigger buttons.

Weapon/armour progression system is a bit of a let down though. That would be my fault with it. More of a diablo type syemek) system. I much prefer being able to find a weapon I like and improving it as an when I can rather than changing every time I level up. But that's personal preference.

I found I preferred the older games, though mainly because my method of getting around involved the rooftops! You just can’t parkour in Origins as a viable option. My favourite is probably AC 2.

It'd be your best bet currently. New upcoming Xenoblade game might be worth a gander. Always wanted to play that but only managed to get it half running through an emulator on PC.
