It’s really stupid putting ‘We are the mags’ on that flag. It’s only us who ever call them that. Around the country most people wouldn’t know what the word means. A Southend supporter on here yesterday had to ask.

They continually over estimate the awareness of their myths round the country just because Sky kiss their arses. One of their fans was challenged on a comments page recently to list all their iconic number 9s and included Les Ferdinand and Wyn Davies. Not knocking them as decent players but even older fans you speak to outside the area will have barely heard of Davies, yet they tout him as an icon.

Sunderland is still in County Durham. tyne and Wear isn't a County it's a metropolitan county, mainly formed because the mags couldn't afford to build the metro themselves and needed our wealth to build it, they promised the metro would extend to Sunderland using the Alexandra Bridge upper deck to do this then promptly had the access arches to the northern end of the bridge demolished which meant it couldn't be used! Look at what has been built on tyneside compared to what has been built on Wearside since tyne and Wear was formed. We've been robbed, we want Sexit, Sunderland out of t&W. We are County Durham, always have been always will be.
Roger Whittaker is/was a South African isn't/wasn't he?
