Same Jacobs needs to knock him out to win as he ain’t getting a decision from Oscars ref or judges

Looks huge Danny... just heard he’s taken a fine for coming in over weight that Canelo team had put in to contract.... fight night weight??
Yeah massive fine, Hearn reckons he’s gonna pay it.

The difference in the Jabs in staggering, Canelos is snappy and like a ram rod, Jacobs seems to be just pawing with it, no snap or urgency.

Piss poor from Jacobs there, got himself back into the fight then had a round off. Got into good positions and smothered his work. Asking his corner how was the 11th round etc. He must know he needs to just throw until he can’t anymore.

116 - 112 for Canelo on my card.

Fight was cagey. Shame, but not the worst fight by any stretch. Jacob's just can't smoothly transition from throwing to evading - either needs to be punching or defending.

I'm done with Sky commentary mind, it's the cringiest and one of the shittest. Froch in a world of his own, as per - zero idea why they're putting him on these fights. They even snuck in 'teek tough' in there ffs. It's almost like they're just not arsed whatsoever about production value.

Thought the opening rounds Canelo was brilliant, the last 6 were tight and maybe slightly edged by DJ. So agree with the result. I'd have liked to have seen Canelo go on and dominate if he is going down as an all time great...

They really need to have Clarke and Lee as the main commentary team with one of Paulie or Bernstein alongside them for big fights that Showtime don't pick up but it'll never happen. Their target audience are the casual market who'll happily pay for any old dross they put on PPV so unfortunately Froch has far more credibility with that market than somebody who's actually any good.

Smith wasn't actually that bad back in the day but once he became head of Sky Boxing he should never have been allowed near the commentary booth again. He's a salesman rather than a commentator these days and it comes across in every single fight he does, waffles on about pointless narratives instead of actually covering what's happening in front of him.

Yeah, they love a 'lad' type and Froch fits it perfectly. There was one point where he was calling both fighters Alvarez and at one point mentioned both Alvarez and Canelo as if they were seperate people. Sometimes just blithers like he's been on the McGregor fuel.

As for Smith, he did used to be decent tbf. Now he just sounds like a nerd who doesn't really know what's going on in front of him. Only Coldwell any good.

Coldwell, Macklin and Bellew can be decent however as soon as they're asked to commentate/analyse a fight in which they have a vested interest in they become as bad as the rest of them. You can tell a mile off Yelussinov turned down a management deal with MTK with the way Macklin slates him at every opportunity when he's covering his fights.

As much as the ESPN commentary team are a joke they at least had the sense to have Andre Ward not commentate on Shakur Stevenson's fight on the Crawford vs Khan undercard as it was a clear conflict of interest for him to cover a fighter he manages.

I think overall Sky's boxing team is pretty poor. HBO used to do an excellent job. Sky is amateur in comparison atm.
