Not sure why people would get worked up about things like this. As a Sunderland born person living in Newcastle there's a bit of a difference between Mags and people who simply live in Newcastle.

Fair point. Most residential areas immediately adjacent to Newcastle centre are student dormitories now.

Geordies commute into work these days.

Mags are glory hunters who've attached themselves to Newcastle in the period since Keegan invented football back in 1992.

Looking forward to visiting the Newcastle Metro Centre tomorrow and then when I’m done, I’ll be driving south past the Angel, through Washington to home.
 
Who HSBC? Do they have history for it?
i presume its their marketing department trying to use some kinda of push-back against an insular view of world events that the current political climate draws upon? pretty sure they had london and england ones in a similar vain.
