Durham vs Lancashire - One Day Cup - Gosforth 30/04/19

Lancashire fan next to me moaning our captain keeps having a discussion. Had to remind him we have until around 6.30pm to bowl our overs. Crazy lack of knowledge of the rules

One of those games where the opposition are strolling to victory and suddenly there are a flurry of wickets and you're looking at an unlikely victory and then....well we all know the script!

Must say I enjoyed today...good weather and a ground that reminded me of the old days at Park Drive.

Unfortunately it looks like my debut at South North brought an end to Durham's 100% winning record there.

Well just home after a really enjoyable day. Good game of cricket, 2 good sides. On paper they looked much better and to be fair for most of the game they were much better but we stuck in and make a game of it, giving ourselves a chance. Onions smashes two 6s which won them the game, fine margins. Not overly disappointed as this team is giving a lot and the majority are basically the future of our club. I moaned on loads last season wanting to see youngsters given game time and it's ever so good to see that happen. Happy with what I'm seeing in this competition and happy to see young lads giving it everything for the club. Well done Durham

Good to see Maxwell and Anderson also.

Agree with the young kids bit, this was my issue last year, but maybe they thought it was too soon

I don't just want to become another 2nd division club full of experienced pros, need to push local talent, its why the club was created, to give locals a chance of first class cricket

Unlucky today, can't remember Bunny hitting a 6 like, typical

Sounds like a good day

Both great posts.

When we were 116-6 I wasn’t surprised, but wasn’t particularly upset - when you look at our side against the other sides in the competition it’s clear we’re rebuilding and it’s clear that if we can somehow claim a quarter final slot we’ve done very well to do so.

On paper - Notts, Lancashire and Yorkshire are absolutely streets ahead of us, and they should be really.

Think perhaps we just need to enjoy ourselves as much as we can this season. The start to the Championship was frustrating, but hopefully the confidence gained in this format will bode well for the rest of the season.

They're a young team, we have absolutely no expectations other than they fight hard, learn from their mistakes and improve.

That said, some of our lads need to work out how to pace an innings, because we either get suicidal shot play or overs of stone walling and not much in between. Lees has shown the way, played each shot on its merits and kept the scoreboard ticking over. Harte is similar crack and really should play over Clark for me.

Would have been nice to be able to field Mark Wood, seeing as we were up against Anderson...
