Star Trek : Discovery

Not sure I'm a fan of this spock without his beard. Looks weird:lol:

He didn’t he!

I quite liked that episode, the battle was....intense!

Interesting way of handling how the Discovery fits in with Starfleet canon (or doesn’t fit).

Wonder which way they going to go with series three?

My only irritation with the episode, with everything going on, the supposed intensity and everybody rushing around trying to get things done quickly. Burnam and Spock casual conversations and relaxed attitude were just not right.

Decent finale, but it was very much an extended trailer for a Pike's Enterprise show. No bad thing. The series overall was a vast improvement, but is it a good thing that it was mainly down to the guest stars?

Personally it wouldn't bother me if we never saw Discovery again. Seems an ideal place to knock it on the head.

How are we going to have a section 31 show now without removing all the jeopardy and consequences from this show?

I hope that's the last we see of Burnham and co. I wanna go with Pike and Spock! :p

I doubt it!

From what I reading about series 3, setting it 900 odd years in the future will give writers the opportunity to get away from trek continuity/canon. Basically meaning they will be starting with a clean slate, everything done previously will be ancient history.

All seems very Voyager to me though.

That was shite. Standing there chatting while your comrades are dieing for you.

It's an infuriating show generally. Some great individual bits interspersed with 'what the fuck?' logic and story twists. It's nowhere near the likes of The Expanse in terms of writing quality.

One of the many things that makes ST great is the character & story development. Discovery is relying too much on CGI. Might be an age thing tho.

I'm starting to think different writers write different characters. It's difficult to reconcile the writing and development for Saru, Stamets & Culber, Pike, Tyler, hell even Jet Reno, with Burnham, Georgiou and Tilly.

I’m a big Star Trek fan and gave up about 4 eps ago, it’s turned shite like. I might just watch the finale.

I see they still havnt answered the question of what control/layland is.
My thinking was they are some version of the borg that evoled from the encounters in First Contact and ENT
Which would mean the time line goes
TOS, TAS, TNG, First Contact, ENT, STD, which would mean that what happenes in ENT and STD are a new time line that is caused by the Borg and Enterprise-F going back in time with there advanced technology at that point.

This 2nd season consisted of every cliché and Michael crying...almost every bloody episode. Then all the sentimental bollocks on top of that (others crying) Why so much crying going on?!?

It's a beautiful looking show but you need a vomit bucket. I mean, it's the best ever looking ST series but the drama and tears..

I'm still in tears...

tears of laughter...

'Time crystal' FFS! :oops::lol:

I understand original Star Trek fans get very protective over it but I think it’s a good show and I’ve enjoyed it. Looking forward to season 3.
