Notre Dame (Paris) on fire?

Am I the only one who finds the idea of just standing them behind my phone filming it for 20 mins weird?

I lived pretty near grenfell and saw a lot of the fire, at no point did I think I'd film it
I know what you mean but it can provide vital evidence of rate and direction of spread. Film from mobiles has been used in the Grenfell inquiry. So if I was an eye witness, I'd probably film it for that reason, although I'd feel pretty sick while doing it.

I’m nonplussed on filming such events. Years ago, my wife was involved in a car accident and while I was seeing to her on the grass verge, a bloke pulled over to take a photo of her car on fire. I’d have ripped him in half if I’d gotten hold of him at the time.

That’s not to say you don’t have a valid point ref recording facts. Just needs to be done in a diplomatic way sometimes.

Dont blame you for wanting to knack him.

Canny bit difference though from a burning car to that.

Fuck knows why he even done it? Why would you pull over, not offer help and just record their problem...

Proper harsh

Cutty Sark destroyed by fire during works.
Windsor Castle devastated by fire during works.
Uppark House destroyed by fire during works.

Biggest risk for an ancient buildings seems to be restoration / other works

It’s nearly always hot works (tar work or grinding) near old dry timber and other building materials. Once the works are in process, it opens up the fabric which has delaminated over the years and is like tinder.
