A factor, certainly. But not nearly the only one.

I agree, so for that reason, anyone who can dominate a sport as complex and challenging as golf deserves to be near the top of any of these lists.

His level of dominance was that good he was going off even money favourite in events when pre him it would be 10/1 the field. 50 plus folk have a genuine chance of winning tournaments and the winner has got to beat every single one if these. That happens in no other sport

golf better meets the definition of "game" than "sport," does not require rigorous physical activity, and can be played professionally by people who are overweight, injured, or non-athletic.

I'm not here trying to make the case. Why don't you convince me it draws upon a wider range of skills than some of the other top sports?

He has clearly been a very very very good golfer. Which is not the be all and end all in this question.
