Missiles being hoyed all game from North Stand Upper

Because the club will look to sweep this under the carpet, as they are as much at fault as the police. Whatever happened to those bruisers in the blue coats that were deployed to sort out such behaviour? Probably too busy kicking kids out of their incorrect seats behind the goals...

Unfortunately nothing will happen and no justice will be served here, however many complaints are raised. We need some class action type movement on here to have any hope of action about this, otherwise it’s free to happen the next time a set of knobheads turn up here - Millwall next season anyone?

sorry like but as much as i feel sorry for the people who had to deal with it, and how shit it was overall, the club cannot be held responisble in anyway for what they did. we have had away fans up there for years and years, including the mags several time, with very little of this type of thing. what were the club supposed to do and how were they supposed to know to do it?

the only people who are responisble fo the whole thing are the bell ends doing it.

This is absolute nonsense like sorry, the exact opposite is true its absolutely the clubs responsibility, its nobody elses in the slightest. Its this attitude that allows these things to happen, you can't just assume all fans will be well behaved man, you need protocols in place. Nobody searched, bottles sold inside the stadium to a massive away following to make some extra cash, lack of police and stewards in the right areas, lack of action after it takes place, allowing it to continue, lack of acknowledgement that anything has happened

You couldn't be further from the truth.

This.

Although if one is my mates hoyed a bottle from a stand into a crowd below indiscriminately I would drop him myself, no questions asked.

Aye its not on but you have to go from the basis that every large following will have a scum element, there seems to be absolutely nothing in place for this, no attempt to prevent it initially and no attempt to stop it

How can fans in an away section above home fans be sat drinking out of bottles all game in their seats man, thats the clubs fault and nobody elses.

Someone makes a great point earlier, if we'd won 6-5 Donald would have been tweeting loads, the silence has been poor.

Police doing nothing. Spoke to a copper after the game and his response was “I only have 18 officers” - full of shite.
Well if that's the case then maybe they should have had more. They knew how many tickets were sold so if they were undermanned whose fault is that? Maybe the few they had should have got stuck in and hit a few heads in their 'normal' heavy handed way?

Looked at least 18 polis alone in the tunnel were the ground staff stand to watch the match

Mind polis in telling lies shock

There was stuff been hoyed all owa from the Coventry scum yet they were just stood there watching it happen

Hank is it always full of away fans in there on A match day. First time I've been in for years.

Rubbish

Hardly always full of away fans on a matchday I've been in least 6 times this season & maybe seen nee more than a dozen away fans in there mind this is only till about 1800 then I gan in the deaf club

On a midweek match mind but odd time I've been in on a Saturday never seen away fan

The OB I spoke to about it said, “There ain’t enough of us up there and loads of them are doing it.”
He went on to say that they had got some of them out.

Agreed. Never enough police at matches through costs and availability.

That’s a lot different to the OB standing about laughing.

They didn’t today mind just stood back watching it was a disgrace

Through numbers. It was claimed they found it amusing.

Government at fault. When was the last you time you saw more than a few cops in a city centre.

Iam ashamed to be associated with the club for allowing this to happen. There is no way you should have been able to pay on the gate for away supporters.
Clearly there is no strategy for dealing with this type of incident. They blatantly allowed missiles to be rained down on families. The safety officer and police should have stopped the game and evacuated the north stand. One missile, just one could have killed someone and they stood and watched it. Scandalous
Exactly that, a couple of things thrown should have instigated action to stop it, if as reported there was a constant barrage the stand should have been cleared.
Peoples safety is paramount and the reports of bairns as young as five being under that is utterly unacceptable

We have got to assume that fans were not frisked, and staff served drinks with tops on. In all probability intimidated stewards and staff scared to do their jobs correctly becasuse of lack of support around them.
Beer shouldn’t be served in bottles should all be poured into plastic containers, there’s the first problem solved for them.

Really? Wow, that’s cold hard evidence there. I fully expect home to be called to make that statement as a witness for the prosecution when there is an enquiry.

I’ve told you before, I couldn’t care less if you disagree. I’m simply pointing it out using other posts that I don’t sit here with tin foil on my head making things up.

....and not arguing about anything other than the claim that the police thought this was funny.

It was on,y when the crowd certainly in my section started to gan mentalwith them they decided to get off their fat arses

Donut eating before the match would add to arse fatness.

You won’t have to look long and hard on here to find people who have a deep dis-trust of NP policing Sunderland games.

If you are happy with them looking after your safety and that of your family at the football, crack on with your life and don’t let it worry you.

What’s your problem with understanding that I agree with that?

I’m only disagreeing that we’re stood about laughing which I did not witness at any point.

Police presence at matches is ineffectual, I agree.

Not a thing been reported in the Sunderland echo about the incidents either

Disgraceful

I'm not sure how they can stop this happening in isolated games, as it isn't the norm. We've had big games and big away following in the NSU on loads of occasions. Yesterday wasn't the norm.

My daughter was in the North Stand yesterday and she hated it. Moved seats in the end. Maybe the police could do more. Maybe the club could. Ultimately those in the wrong are the cretins throwing stuff.
