Missiles being hoyed all game from North Stand Upper

I’m not exaggerating when I say that the game should have been stopped.

There were so many objects coming over the top that I think the safety officer should have contacted the officials, had the game stopped and put a message over the tannoy.

At no stage did the police/stewards have it under control.

I’m still f***ing seething.

I was in the middle of the East stand and even from that distance you could tell our supporters were being seriously targeted from stuff being thrown from above. You couldn't pay me to sit under the away supporters.

Its an absolute scandal what you and other supporters have had to put up with today with the police and stewards doing fuck all about it.

Something has to be done about what occurred today.

I noticed a load of them being escorted past the Hilton about 1430. Presumably the same lot causing bother in The Wheatsheaf. Most of them appeared to be carrying their drinks, wouldn't be surprised if they just opened the turnstiles are told them to piss off into the stand hence the bringing in of restricted items. Although when I walked past the away turnstiles quarter of an hour later the stewards and police appeared to searching all of Coventry fans waiting to get in. Obviously the searches were not done well enough judging by all the smokebombs and flares that went off when they scored their first goal indicating something went wrong with the security arrangements.

Prior to having a pint I used the train from Newcastle to Sunderland at 1241 and it was one of the worst train journeys I have ever been on, full of Coventry fans singing all sorts of shite, including Mag songs referring to Cheesy Chips, Sunderland's a massive club, seen you crying on netflicks and such like while acting like total and utter cocks. Horrible bunch of fans, hope they go bust.

Coventry forum also questioning ,why the hell the Safety committee allowed putting away supporters up above us..

Well for the most part fans act like civilised human beings. It appears only the Coventry fans are happy to threaten the safety of families.
It’s not the only ground where the away fans are above home supporters and it can’t be allowed to be used as an excuse for the behaviour

They'll need to be really careful before commenting. If there's been a serious lapse in security, it will probably be an employment disciplinary matter, and everything will need to be done totally by the book. They won't say anything until they've spoken to everyone involved.
Disagree. They could easily put out a non-committal statement acknowledging that complaints have been received and investigations are underway. To say nothing at all is bad form, especially given their previous verbosity on social media.

There’s no place for this crap in football, especially now it’s a family game.

It’s lucky no one was maimed or even killed today, and the club and NP need to be f***ing torn a new arse for this. I expect a good few newish attenders won’t be back. Shit, bottles and flares thrown at our fans? It’s disgusting, but I bet very little is mentioned in the national media. I mean, L1 fans don’t matter as much as top six PL fans, right?

This must never happen again at the SoL. It’s like we’ve either been in a time machine or relocated to Turkey.
I would think Joey “I’m pretty much finished in Football” Barton will take top League 1 billing

Why don’t we just move the away fans back where they where. Was a big mistake imo.
Then we would have had the twats on the pitch instead

There was so much that it had to be a premeditated and deliberate action.

Either that or loads of Coventry fans just happened to have the idea of sneaking beer to their seats and then launching them, as well as not drinking their coke and having the random thought of throwing it
i think Coke may be a problem and not the fizzy stuff.

I've seen very little of this mentioned in post match reports.

Given the potential consequences of the actions of these brain dead morons I'm surprised.

Because the club will look to sweep this under the carpet, as they are as much at fault as the police. Whatever happened to those bruisers in the blue coats that were deployed to sort out such behaviour? Probably too busy kicking kids out of their incorrect seats behind the goals...

Unfortunately nothing will happen and no justice will be served here, however many complaints are raised. We need some class action type movement on here to have any hope of action about this, otherwise it’s free to happen the next time a set of knobheads turn up here - Millwall next season anyone?

It was awful seeing families with young bairns having to move & watching the stewards/police do nowt about it.

It needs addressing properly to prevent it happening again.

The club are not at fault for a bunch of shit fans throwing stuff man, blame the wankers throwing stuff, Other than restrict them next time I'm not sure what the club could have done.

Gutted to hear this happened. Shame on Coventry....and their fans. A fantastic win but pointless if your fans let your club down. CCTV should be used and people should be banned. I assume this will happen

Eh?

They absolutely are to blame, its totally and utterly their fault and their responsibility.

begs the question, 'why do we sell bottles'?

there is also the question, 'why are away fans placed up high'. Its an obvious dangerous spot for our fans.

I suspect that they were trying to make some cash from a large away following and its totally backfired, I doubt they will acknowledge it though
