I was wondering if us and the other L1 clubs could raise some cash for Coventry.

To bribe the stadium owners to not let Coventry City FC lease it ever again...

Glad you’re OK, mate.
It seems football has turned the clock back 40 years in the last year or so. I don’t know what the hell has got into people. Hooliganism, racism, I thought all that was long dead.

Would you be in a hurry to head back to Coventry?
It’ll be like a day out in Monte Carlo here for those tramps.

After the match mate, the question was raised was our support too soft? Now, personally, I love the fact away fans can come to the SOL and enjoy a friendly atmosphere, but after today,I can sadly see that changing.

My lasting memory of today was turning around and seeing 5 or 6 bottles raining down. As you say, it’s like seeing footage for a game in turkey

begs the question, 'why do we sell bottles'?

there is also the question, 'why are away fans placed up high'. Its an obvious dangerous spot for our fans.

How did they even get the bottles to the stands though mate? Surely they’d be stopped before leaving the concourse?

I do think that the beer bottles are plastic. I've only ever bought pints so not sure.

But.....irrespective, if they're full of liquid, like some were, then they're still going to be heavy and do damage.

A full bottle top on bottle of coke could kill someone if thrown from a great enough height and in the right place

As the lad above who works there says, it appears to be a flaw in the infrastructure that means it's easier up there.

Take beer to your seat in the lower concourse and you get lifted

I could walk into the block where I'm sitting with anything in my pocket - the stewards never check. Anything non-alcoholic you could take in anyway. At Wembley they remove bottle caps before handing the drink over - that's should be a minimum.

I’m not exaggerating when I say that the game should have been stopped.

There were so many objects coming over the top that I think the safety officer should have contacted the officials, had the game stopped and put a message over the tannoy.

At no stage did the police/stewards have it under control.

I’m still f***ing seething.

Aye the entrances are about 2 metres wide, just before kick off there’s the obvious rush and people asking where their seat is, this means the stewards are distracted and people easily get through with bottles.

There’s only 3 of these gangways for a normal allocation, 4 today with them getting the extra corner. Criminal really.

The police and stewards were put in an invidious position by the club but it seems they then did not help the situation.

Our fans should have taken to the pitch. Only way to get something done it seems.

Don’t agree Cat. There was a match commander. He should have taken action by stopping the game and removing the sunlun fans from the stand as he could not guarrentee their safety.

Just in, saw several bottles going over, some with some liquid streaming out.
Utter f***ing arseholes the lot of them
