Running Thread 2019

Another skinny bastard. My mate was second.
Ahhh nice one. My boyfriend slowed down to help someone and got timed out at the last checkpoint by 3 minutes ,:evil:he was gutted. But we've already got our lodge booked up for next year so he won't be defeated ha

I would have ran on, only 1.5 miles go or summit

They took his band off him or he would have. They let the lass he ran to the checkpoint with go on as she was a "tail runner" even though she was in front of at least 5 other runners and she got a lift across the dam  she still got a time so he was fuming and refused to run on Sunday as he was still pissed off

That's that, C210k done and ended doing 10k in 54 mins which isn't bad I think. Plenty left in the tank too, could of added 2 more miles at least, which really I'm happy about considering I really don't like running.

Now for something else, weather is getting good so the bike comes out and I'll probably combine them both for a routine of some sort.

He would have to hand it to them. Bit silly not running Sunday and going back next year.

how did you get on in that duathlon mate , never saw any results online
I helped out, Matty Alderson 1st, rocker 2nd, daryl iguana 3rd, ray Christie 4th.

Know of rocker and ray , not the others , that rocker is some athlete for his age

@The Butcher did you say you’re running in Nike zoom fly mate ? Noticed there’s a fly , a Flyknit and a fly sp ,,, no idea what the difference is . Just wondering how find them (are they small fitting?) and where got them , cheers

Zoom fly yes, havent got a clue what difference is to other similar nikes. I went a size up from normal, got mine in sale from runners need. I like them like, at least the shoes are holding up!

Not properly mate , just twice a week , but also swim once and if find time cycle indoors once , so 4 forms of cardio a week , doubt I club run again now. Lee mentions triathlons but only have mountain bike :D

After saying last week that I was struggling to get back down to a sub-25min 5k I went out on Monday and did 5k in 24:45 and then kept running to hit 6k in 30:00  . No idea what I did differently, all I can think is that on Saturday I went for a long and deliberately slow 90min run which might have helped.

Thats class. I've dropped 3-4 min off my 5k time from last year  No idea why. Did a trail 5k yesterday with a steep incline at one point, felt fast as lightning and was running better than I had in ages - time 29.25

I keep pulling my hamstring, I leave it for a week or so, try a gentle jog, no problem, then increase to pace and pop. Going to give it 2 weeks full rest now.

Been back to the hospital and I've been fitted for custom insoles. Will hopefully be a big help.
Been pretty much sidelined for two weeks. Partly due to my foot but the walking for a mile on my 8 mile run a couple weeks ago has turned into bailing on a 5k, bailing 200 metres into a 10k on Saturday and leaving the gym after 10 minutes on Monday. I'm hoping that it is just linked to the pain in my foot and painkillers having a knock on effect.
Having the rest of the week off although a weekend on the lash in London when I don't normally drink isn't going to improve matters.

put a hole in mine after about 100 miles. I have weird toes though.

Free to a good home if anyone wants them before they go in the bin. Size 11.5.
