Free Solo

Tried to watch it the other day but was saying I had to pay for it. My dad recommended it and says it was insane. Think the lad has been on JRE

Is it a nat geo thing and it is available on now tv?

I've only found it on prime. 4.99 to rent or a tenner to buy. Worth every penny.

its mind boggling watching him on the climb

just the first slab wall was so exposed

I climb, and years and years ago we would solo stuff without realising the risk as we were jst dumb kids

so something like Sunset on peel crag..only a mild severe climb so easy...but its quite a tall crag, and thats the danger

or wodens face in borrowdale, only a V diff but 30m high

so you can imagine watching a guy climb 3200 without a rope gets my arse nipping a bit

He is a lunatic mind, great film. The Dawn Wall is well worth watching, though having watched them both i can help think both of the main players are on the autistic spectrum

Massively on the spectrum I said that on the other thread about Hannoid, ain’t seen Dawn Wall will have to cheers

I loved his grin at the camera when he nailed it..but my heart was racing!

I really cant imagine how stressful watching from below was if you were one of his friends

one of britains greatest solo climbers, Jimmy Jewell died on the way back to the climbing hut they were staying in...he was just negotiating an easy route in his trainers , slipped and died

its not the difficulty that kills you..its the height

Aye I am no climber but did crib Goch in the dark as part of the 15 peaks and it was damp. Terrifying seeing drops down both sides of the ridge.

Gave me the heeby jeebys seeing the drop from certain points where he was at even tho I held rock leader years ago. When they showed how his brain performed in relation to fear explains why he didn't feel scared when normal people would have shat themselves even if harnessed.

Can't even comprehend how he managed that like. Literally any single minor mistake and he was dead. Had to be utterly perfect.

He went up it at an unbelievable pace as well.

He's a complete dick where his Mrs is concerned tho. He is only bothered about climbing and she is a second thought. She loves him to death pun intended and wants him to stop but he doesn't have the fear to recognise when enough is enough.
