Free Solo

Epic amounts of skill, balls and concentration a feat that surely won’t be beat !

He’s got to autistic as owt like my eldest is going through a diagnosis at the minute but Alex ticks so many boxes ! High functioning but well up there !

Cracking documentary. Last weekend I watched a few climbing films/docs, my top picks were Meru (Jimmy Chin & his missus) , The Dawn Wall & Valley Uprising. Well worth a watch if you can find them, especially the first two

I thought the same thing, he reminds me (a bit) of my son - except my sons coordination is shite :)

He's a bit of a media star isn't he. Been documentaries and interviews with him for years on YouTube.

Watched something on how they filmed that documentary. A lot of ethical questions as to whether they should be doing it. What if the pressure of them filming lead to him slipping and dying, unnecessary distraction etc. Pretty interesting how they did it.

And the fact they (climber and film crew) were all really close...the thought of filming your mate falling to his death...:(

On amazon prime if anyone wants to watch the maddest thing I've ever seen.

Climbing El capitan solo no ropes.

Some of the footage gave me the proper shakes. Watching through fingers the lot.

He is a lunatic mind, great film. The Dawn Wall is well worth watching, though having watched them both i can help think both of the main players are on the autistic spectrum
