It’s disingenuous to say there isn’t a problem with extreme violence within the Somali community in the UK though.

I appreciate that the whole point of allowing refugees in from war zones is to give people a safe place to live but maybe people who have seen such violence in their home countries have a more casual attitude towards it here.

And being white and not involved in criminality seemed to grab people’s attention too. If that was a young black lad people would have still jumped to conclusions. The Met might have changed since Stephen Lawrence but the public and the press lag behind significantly

Do you not think opening your doors to people being butchered in their own country is right? I had dealings with a few who’s stories of how they arrived in the U.K. made me sit up and confirm that it was the right thing to do. I lived in London when they fled to the U.K. and they did have an impact on services but I personally think it was the right thing to do

The knifeman might have had mental health issues like that poor lad from Shields who chose to stop taking medication and chose to collect a bag of knives, swords and machetes and chose to put a mask on before choosing to enter a shop before choosing to stab a woman 29 times, choosing to stop during the attack to check for witnesses then chose to try to dispose of the evidence then chose to have no memory of the attack when caught.

This chap was apparently making threats to kill, the police have removed the threat.

If he survives I hope he gets the appropriate help.

In the meantime I'll express my gratitude to the police for doing a great job under immense pressure. Not a terrible thing to say at all.

Edit. I've been wooshed. :neutral::lol:
