Shooting in a mosque in NZ...

I'm certainly not doubting your statement but I have a mixed race family and I've never seen it anywhere.

Why are you so terrified?

My step dad is black. Had no problem at all. Well unless someone who was pissed and convinced he was Gary Bennett is a problem.

Mind, he's f***ing massive so doubt many would say owt to him even if they wanted to.

Pissing in the wind there mate. Games industry is probably worth more than the firearms industry.
Weirdly I had this exact conversation with a lad at work the other day.
They can’t allow this shit to run out of control. The amount of times I heard a kid in a lobby on call of duty or a kid is playing GTA.
I’m not a lefty at all but this can’t continue.

Wherever people are allowed to spout the kind of bile he and extremists on the other side do and they are not challenged and condemned by every right minded person, they lead other people believe these views are acceptable and normal. All right wing extremism and extremist islam need to be rooted out and banned as they have each other engaged in an escalating spiral of hate........All right minded people who want it to stop need to stop justifying any of the things that are said by anybody trying to whip up this hatred.
We must stop all the views we don't like. I don't like this post, so off to the gulag with you, comrade. You totally contradict yourself. If you ban someone from saying something, how can they be challenged?

If Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

This video games stuff isn't right at all tbf. Just because the footage seemed like a scene out a video games it really didn't influence the shooting though in all respect. Guns have been around long before videos games.

Because millions of White People all over the Western World are openly rejecting the right of non-white people to live in Western countries.

Thankfully in Britain that isn’t, as yet, anything close to a majority view. But the Brexit debacle has exposed the utter ineptitude and indifference of our polite democratic political class to anything but self interest and the public’s utter refusal to do anything tangible to fight for democracy.

It will just take one fascist who knows how to play the system, who can dress himself in the garb of political acceptability, and the weakness of the existing political class, the class class subservience of the public to politicians and the radicalism of right-wing supporters will ensure the far-right gets a big voice here too and people will be more interested in appeasing it for the sake Democratic acceptability than poising it as an evil.

In the past two years my wife and lots of her her family members and their friends have been called Paki, N****, told to go home on several occasions etc despite it hardly ever occurring to them in their lifetimes. And the first generation immigrants among them havent felt as intimidating a climate as bad as this since they came.

There is a turn in the tide. How bad I can’t say. But White Supremacy is a far bigger threat to the West than Islamic extremism. Because Islamic extremists arent going to overthrow a state with isolate terrorism. Their aim is very very long game, they want s monolithic clash between Islam and everyone else that’s impossible to engineer.

White Supremacusts have on the other hand routinley overthrown democracies within less than a decade. When democracies are sick, that’s when they strike. And look at where democracy is now.

Agreed- there’s a danger after an event like this that any criticism could be viewed as extremism, which is dangerous.

That is one of the challenges we face now with the internet I guess. Freedom of speech feels like it means something quite different now to what it meant a few years back though
I think it means the same, but we are exposed to so many more ideas. I find that exciting, not scary, and hope it'll lead to more freedom. (I suspect it won't in the short term)

And that’s the stumbling block, any terrorists are equally abhorrent no matter race or creed so should be dealt with equally and severely

Agreed.

Unfortunately it's all going to be used to curtail more freedoms for normal folk. It's happening to the Internet. Expect more stuff like this so we actively ask the government to protect us from the evil internet

People are totally free to say whatever they want but they need to understand that there could be consequences ie being done for hate speech, inciting racial or religious hatred etc.
