It hasn't been brushed under the carpet - it's still in the news. However, white Europeans are what the majority of Europeans are, so obviously things that happen in Europe are more high profile than things that happen in Africa.

No way will I let the 98 or Vista versions drive me.
Your problem might be all of the other driverless cars careering around doing irrational things even if you are driving manually.
The problem driverless car manufacturers face is that they can never be perfect and there will always be collisions so will people ever trust them even if they are proven to be much safer than human drivers?

My friend's okay. She's on an Addis-Nairobi flight today. Ethiopian have grounded their remaining 737-Max fleet, so at least she won't be on one of those.
Turns out, however, I knew at least one person on the crashed plane - one of the Kenyans. RIP.

TUI have 4 of them but Ryanair have not had any delivered and in service yet. They should be getting them this summer.
Ah, okay. I guess this may depend on what investigations of both this and the Lion Air crash find.

Their planned seat plan is absolutely awful with them as well. They have removed 2 inches of leg room from every seat to squeeze in nearly 200 passengers.

Its good that they have the recorders so quickly. At this point the speculation and uncertainty goes mad and the sooner they can start ruling things out, the better

Probably be the safest planes to fly on in a few months. Boeing will be all over this if there is any hint of issue with one of their main products

As the crash happened in Ethiopia, The NTSB don't have Primacy, The Ethiopian investigation do. Although they can relinquish it I think.
Countries have already started grounding those Aircraft so I bet they will be trying to get to the bottom of it sprightly.
