Going up the Houghton cut, camera was on top of an unmarked Skoda Octavia estate, on the back right corner, angled to view cars overtaking the Skoda. Small black rectangular box with two lenses. Only one fella in it, couldn't see any hidden lights in the grill. As I passed him you could see him looking at his centre console as if to be checking a monitor, I watched him in the mirror and every car that went passed he was doing the same.

What was it? Mobile phone checker, tax? And who runs them? Never seen or heard of one before.

that's the fella! Couldn't see any hidden lights on it though, or a big sign board in the back like that. And there was only one fella in it, thought they had to have two?

I don't think there's any requirement to have two officers, but I couldn't give you a definitive answer.

They're usually uniformed in unmarked traffic cars to allow them to complete stops, I'm pretty sure it's still a requirement that a constable performing a traffic stop wears a police uniform anyway. Could be there was a marked unit at another junction to pull anyone that was flagged on the ANPR.

It's mental that people still bomb along there. Or that daft ***** who sit at 53 thinking they're getting 1up on everyone else. The policing on The 690 is crackers.
