Star Trek : Discovery

This is going to require a fair bit of writing gymnastics to pull off mind. It's shown on screen in The Menagerie that the only ship ever to visit Talos IV is Pike's Enterprise.
If it’s only the shuttle going is still technically true.
Depending on how the episode pans out no one else might even be aware they have been there.

Just managed to catch up on it, and enjoying it so far. Definitely an improvement on the last series and feels a bit more trek. I wish they would do some episodes featuring the other characters. They have names now, and Saru now has a bit more depth, but it would be nice if they were bold and tried going 10 seconds without Burnham being the main one on screen. Star Trek has always been built around a rich collection of characters.

There have been a few scenes this series where it has seemed a bit more Orville like, especially some of Pike’s lines.

My theory on the red angel is because it appears when there is a problem that needs sorting, it is a time traveller who has been to the future then appears back in the past striving to put right what once went wrong. Has to be Captain Archer.

Wrong series mate that was Quantum Leap ;)

well that was a tedious episode

I think one of the script writers should be moved on

Ok-ish episode. I'm very curious what that probe thing was and the whole story arc in general. I just hope it's not a wet fart when it all gets explained.

The latest Orville episode was fantastic, the best yet. Acting across the board was better and EXPLOSIONS!
it was brilliant wasn't it I watched it twice, I said it was great here Star Trek : Discovery

Spock = shite
Klingons = shite
Gay doctor melodrama/spore drive = shite
Tilly = shite
Burnham = shiite

The Red Angel and Cpt Pike are the only 2 interesting things about it.

What's worse is there's a crew on the bridge that look fairly interesting, including a robot lass and a lass who appeared in Ep 1 then turned up with a bionic implant on her heed, but we haven't even learned their names yet.

The writers need shooting with a phaser set to KILL.

I'm not keen on the red angel.
I like the spor drive.
I'm seeing all the gear no idea.
The script is embarrassingly bad.
Is Spocks ma her out of breaking bad, Lydia?

I think the second series is poor I haven't managed to get into a single episode.
This bridge crew has taken the original series multi cultural bridge to a whole new level and as a result it's hard to get into the characters. A jock, a Russian, an African, an American and an alien on the bridge was interesting in the OS but the discovery lot have no personality or traits to get to know. Writers to blame they are only interested in a few central characters and they get the stories.

how would you set phazers if you had to shoot a writer - I would still set it to stun I don't agree with Marlons setting it to KILL its way over the top.

Something else I noticed in S1 was the lack of strong heterosexual male characters. Lorca was evil, the Klingon bloke was the most emasculated bloke in the history of TV and the Vulcan's are all bigoted bellends. The men were all either weak-minded idiots or gay.

Loads of strong female characters though.

The writers obviously had an agenda, still do. I think they brought Pike in to try and even it up a bit.

There was Stamis as the only one who can make the ship work. Though, I find him quite annoying. I don't know if it is just because he seemed stoned all the time but does not really seem the sleeves rolled up fix the bloody thing, typical star fleet engineer.

Stamets is gay iirc. Why that's even relevant in Star Trek is everything that's wrong with it.

The writers are too preoccupied trying to tick boxes imo. They need to concentrate on writing some good stories and drop the virue signalling..

Star trek says it will be a diverse universe.

You've asked me this before. :lol:
I was probably pissed so I cant remember.
