ha ha ha well, my son was one of the ball boys last night. great experience for the lads, letting local teams take turns to do it. I cannot believe we are now blaming ball boys for our lack of quality on the pitch. fk off you morons. Yes there was one occasion when the lad took too long to get it and Reece James ended up getting but ffs for grown men to be snarling at ball boys when the whole team were slow as fk anyway! get a grip.
 

We got a throw in on the left hand side and our player had to run fully 50 yards to retrieve the ball and return to where the ball went out of play.
Complete joke and someone needs to sort it out

Yes it was Reece James, and it was about 25 yards. It didn't help that the ball had been booted out, hit the seat next to us and rebounded back down the track, the lad probably didn't see it till late.
 
Even Barnes on Radio Newcastle felt it necessary to mention the ballboys last night...I suppose it made a change from him describing players 'digging the ball out' every twenty seconds.

Do they need to be boys? I'm sure we could find plenty adults to do it. Just like they do in the US open.

If they don't understand, they should not be ball boying

I would think there are hundreds of kids who would regard it as a privilege to be a ball boy
 
It was a huge problem last night. Not great as a spectator wanting value for money, the amount of time the ball hasn’t been in play this season at the SOL is quite staggering really.

We should change the system to ball men! Get 10 different fans each week. We’ll be able to get closer to the players and even touch them and stuff! :cool:

If it's the same local kids team that were outside before the game collecting money, they couldn't even shake a bucket never mind through a ball back.
 
Something Stewart Donald introduced after being used to it in the lower leagues with Eastleigh and oxford I believe.

Tweet him about it, it’s not the kids faults they are just volunteers, you’ll get some keen, some shy.
 
If the ball enters the crowd there’s always a group of young’uns chasing after it, so it’s not really excuse to say they’re only bairns when a ball boy is sat watching the ball roll past them.

If it’s not an issue then why even have them in the first place?
