Ched Evans...

We are getting desperate now. Terrible decision by club to put the public deadline out there so they could cash in on Maja. Hopefully doesn't cost us but the owners are looking like they're getting caught short after giving it the big talk.

On Evans - he's actually good numbers wise. I highlighted him on my thread on Sunday. Link below

Top Goalscorers in League 1 - figures & striking targets.

What he did isn't in doubt.
Have a read of the link if you're unsure....
Which link? I haven't read through every page.

Either way though there was obviously enough doubt for him to be declared not guilty there marra….

As I've said, I still think we should steer clear like.

Bridge to far ?

Well if you said two and a half years ago, whilst we were battling relegation from the top flight and the Adam Johnson saga was ongoing, that by 2019 we’d be in the third division and looking to sign Ched Evans as our main striker Id have been utterly amazed and probably committed to never going again.

There are two footballers who have courted more genuinely serious controversy in recent years than any other; Ched Evans and Adam Johnson. I regret us being associated with one of them let alone both.

I seriously hope this doesn’t happen

disappointed we are even contemplating bringing him in given the circus that will begin

I honestly believe it’s all bollocks and tomorrow everyone will be laughing at the link.

If, however, it’s true and we sign the lad - the new owners would have fucked up big style and they will lose a bit of good will.
If we don't sign 2 strikers which they have said all window, nevermind Ched Evans.

Interesting perspective and given our record you have a point.

Some on here seem more concerned with striking a blow for men's rights than the good of the club. You'd think this was an MRA forum the way some go on.

Both on and off the pitch we can do far better.

Not condoning it, but I bet it’s rife in football that type of thing. A lot of the footballers people worship will all have their dirty little secrets, as a lot of people do. If we were trying to resign Johnson, I could see the outrage, but Evans has been cleared in a court of law. He’s not my first choice one bit, but it could be the reality come tomorrow.
I think it will be, but i reckon evans will habe learnt a very harsh lesson, im all for giving the lad a chance

That’s secondary to me but you’re absolutely right. Why on earth would we invite this controversy upon ourselves and potentially derail a season that is alright in slight danger of becoming more difficult than it needed to be.

What controversy? did he still do it like? coz if you know better, you should give the Crown Court a tinkle to pass on your verdict, we'll be able to get him back in prison then!!

No they won’t. But they might want to consider whether there are others of a similar mindset, how many female supporters and season ticket holders we have who wouldn’t like this at all, our recent history of controversy with sexual assault cases, the masses of negative PR we’ve had in recent years and that we are a club that allegedly prides itself on being community orientated.

Why we would risk anything on a fairly abhorrent no mark of a footballer is beyond me. Why people would welcome us signing him let alone defend him is also beyond me but there ya go
Because despite what’s been wrote the facts were fully investigated over and over and he was found completely not guilty of any crime. He spent time in jail for not committing a crime. Just because you are concerned about how it makes you feel, maybe looking at it completely objectively without worrying about Adam Johnson case.
