Metro 2019

If it's running up to heworth it'll kick out there then turn round at the points up ahead before going back to Shields or Sunderland. If it's running to heworth...

The overhead line is snapped in the Gateshead area... It'll be off all night at a guess.

That's exactly what it's doing. Four trains. Two doing Heworth to South Shields, two doing Heworth to Sunderland.

Edit: mates on it. Metro pulled in and gets on. Driver has now fucked off so they're stuck

Went through a phase of wanting to save money and deciding I was going to sack one of the cars off and use public transport for my commute to Felling each day.

One day trail run and I decided I would keep the car! What an awful service. Delays and absolute arseholes using it.

Update: Seven metres of overhead line has come down at Gateshead. Staff are at site carrying out repairs which will take a number of hours. Passengers are advised to seek alternative travel between Monument and Heworth. Go North East accepting Metro tickets in affected area.

how does 7 metres of overhead wire just "come down"?
Because it’s a 40 year old infrastructure project that has never been serviced or updated properly.

It'll have snapped and while the driver applied the brakes the pantograph above the train will have taken x amount of metres with it until it came to a stand.
