Mr Donald, please move the away fans back to the South Stand

Swap them around. It's supposed to be the home end. All the branch flags and 2 tiers looks great. Its perfect for a very noisy home end.
You cant swap them round as you have the sports bar at the back, plus that would mean chasing fans who are already seated in the North Stand. I was sat at the back of the North Stand but had to move to the South Stand to accommodate the fans in the Sports Bar.

If they stay where they are there is the benefit that they can bring as many as they like and it's flexible, even if premier concourse back open for home fans you can still fit 6k of them in no bother. That's good from a financial point of view.

Bring them down and you then end up with some issues. The standard upper provision is 3k I think.

So if you make room for 3k then you clearly limit your ability to have 4k like Luton. So less income
Make provision for more and you end up with big gaps as even in premier League, often only 1k will come.

That’s why if they ever get shifted back down the North West Corner probably makes the most sense to me. It’s right by where the away coaches park now (in fact it’s closer) so logistically it isn’t as big a change, and if a bigger allocation is needed in the cup or something you could also give them the North West Upper directly above.

Moving them back to the South Stand would be madness as you’d be breaking up the SWC and South Stand which is the loudest part of the stadium. They’ve made a decent effort to make it into a home end recently as well with the Roker End name and mural etc.

Why mate? Is there a ruling in place for it? Genuine question.

A couple of reasons mate. Firstly, if we moved the away fans again, the police will insist the only safe location would be the south stand.

Secondly, cost. If the police agreed to move them to the NE corner, the club would have to spend quite a bit of money ensuring they have the necessary facilities; in addition to the demands of the police (cameras etc)

Should put away fans in the south west corner and small part of the west stand wing

A similar move worked well at Elland Road

If they bring loads of fans give them a couple of blocks of the upper west stand as well.

NWC concourse is not big enough mate.

.. Can you provide evidence for that cos I think it is bollox ..

I liked an earlier post Andy where a poster said about moving the gantry and all media to the east stand. Then we could stick away fans in SEC out of view of tv?

.. Think they would be good wedged between the South Stand and the South West lot moved further in the North ..

Maybe so mate, but that's irrelevant now. You might get there eventually but you can't just transplant the vocal part of the Roker End there or anywhere else, they'll be scattered here there and everywhere and it'll take a few years for a new vocal section to self-organise.

I think all of this is a bit irrelevant anyway, I think it's down to demographics, seating and the consumer mindset of the modern football goer. But just my opinion.
Aye maybe mate, that and the fact that wherever they are it will never be to the likng of everyone.

Dont agree fella! It was ok when the awy end sold their full allocation but when they didnt the lack of supporters behind the goail looke terrible especially on tv.....the family end is not big enough to hold a full allocation. It will involve moving folk with season tickets and you know how easy that is ..............the best atmosphere is with the lower bowl full imho and two of the best atmospheres ive been at were the chelsea and everton games with far sat .........you dont have to be within spitting distance of the oposition to generate an atmosphere......or is that just you?
Please read fat sam ..for "far sat":oops:

There’s loads around us in the Roker end that want to be part of an atmosphere but aren’t interested in contributing to it…

Aye, I mentioned that yesterday. I was in the south stand for a season, there's loads who like being there because it's the loudest bit of the ground but they don't realise that, if they aren't singing, they're making it worse. Imo we don't have enough chanters for it to work there, it was better in the smaller SWC because it seemed a bigger percentage actually joined in

Or rather the Roker End as it is now called.

The atmosphere is crap. Move the away fans back to where they used to be to generate a proper atmosphere. Get the South West Corner bouncing again. Or better still...shift away fans into the family end of the South Stand and then we could have the SWC and section of South Stand to make more noise.

Martin O'Neil pushed for the away fans to move up a height to gain an advantage. Well it's done fuck all, we lost more home games than anyone else in the football league the last 3 or 4 seasons before this one and the atmosphere is shite.

Never lost to the mags since

The SEC is the family stand mate. The club won’t move families - especially given the fact that corner has been all done up

IMO in doing it you have to keep them close to the areas of the ground that try to contribute the most to the atmosphere, South Stand and South west Corner.

This means either putting them in the family corner, or alternatively putting them right in the middle of the south stand and relocating the South Stand to the corner therefore having the away fans 'penned in' from both sides
And where would you put the fans from the centre of the South Stand?
