The National

Cliff I presume.

I don't like the bloke or much of his music - but he made some undeniably terrific pop records especially in his early days.
If you like them, you like them. There's nowt to be embarrassed about. You either like something or you don't.
He's just for Christian hipsters, man. A sanitised rip-off of Elvis. I do dig Devil Woman, mind.

About who you like.
Ah. Do you want a list?

They're strange ,their stuff isn't instant or catchy and can seem average but given the chance it gets under your skin then you can't go back

Good description!

Bloodbuzz ohio.

I know, that's what I'm saying, I've seen it. It's a culture thing.

I can't see any reason why somebody would subject themselves to a band like The National though, so they must like it. God knas why like but each to their own and all that.

It's like the 1st time you buy a pint of Guinness as a young un, it's hard work. Then you try another couple of times and you get it.
Or something like that.

I've given these a few goes now mind (I've got them on now just in case) and I cannot get away with them like.
Thought the strong story telling lyrical content would suit a Dylan fan .Might be an age thing, they don't try to get your attention ,they just wait until you bother ,Like a cat compared to a dog

A previous album probably.
Nah. Certain songs sound like songs by other bands. To be honest, I even understand where the other lad is coming from with The Killers comparison although that would only be a couple of tracks and they would be The Killers best songs. It's not really a problem, just stops them being top notch for me.

Any examples of the Killers songs? Genuinely intrigued as I cant see any similarities in the music. And I presume you think the best songs are from Hot Fuss.

Dint like cats.

On a serious note, I haven't gotten much of that from what I've listened to. Quite sparse really.

I can appreciate the sentiment but it shouldn't always be that hard.

For the record, I had the same opinion of Guinness when I was 15 as I do now - a middling pint of neither here nor there. A bit like The National really.
