Hear hearA phenomenal sportsman and competitor, underappreciated in this country.
Watching him compete at the very top has been a pleasure and we'll miss him when he retires.
Looks like he's announced the end of his career.
Greatest British sportsman ever? It's a yes from me.
What he has achieved in arguably the greatest era of tennis is nothing short of phenomenal. We even won a Davis cup FFS. Greatest British tennis player ever.
I don't get the hate. Top bloke, survived Dunblane, does loads for charity's and doesn't take himself seriously.
Hopefully he can get through it to a Wimbledon farewell.
Looks like he's announced the end of his career.

Not even a Gareth HallHe's no Jeff Whitley
even Jeff Whitley is no Jeff Whitley! He's no Jeff Whitley
Not even close
Up there with Stan Wawrinka................
Billy HardyNo from me too.
Difficult to choose who is though. Sort of people I'm thinking:
Steve Redgrave
Alastair Cook
Daley Thompson
Chris Hoy
Lee Cattermole
Ronnie O'Sullivan
Paula Radcliffe (if we're allowed sports women too)
Steve Cram
Sebastian Coe
Nick Faldo
I'm sure I'll have missed other obvious contenders.
Me too, doesn't feel the need to 'turn it on' in front of the camera - just seems like a normal bloke who happens to be one of the best tennis players in the best era of tennis history.I really like the bloke me. Relatively open and honest for a modern day athlete, cracking sense of humour and a brilliant tennis player.

He is for me. Achieved so much, in a sport we're so historically shit at, having to make sacrifices as a kid (going abroad) as we didn't have the facilities.
Won three grand slams, two gold medals, David Cup, World Number 1. All in the era that probably the greatest player ever has played, and two others who are right there at the very top.
He'd be my number one, personally. Redgrave is up there, but he done it in a sport we are always class at. Murray was on his own and carried the sport in this country for 10 years or so.
If he'd won as many grand slams as say Nadal or Djokovic he'd be in with a shout........Murray doesn't even make the top 10 all time mens players.
