M1 &M25 Speed Cameras going live today

90 is fine if the outside lane is empty. Above that you have to switch your brain to racing driver mode and it requires too much concentration to do it for any length of time.
It’s all well and good ze Germans having derestricted sections, but have you ever tried driving at 150+? No, neither have I
But I’ve done 130ish and if that speck in the distance slows down suddenly you’re on top of it in a second. You’d be mentally drained after driving like that for more than a few miles.

Bit of a shit driver aren’t you? On my advanced driving course very little of it was spent below 100, if the lane was clear about 140 then just slowing down as and when. It was really hard work though, only do blocks of about 45 minutes as the concentration needed is so high. That’s without doing a commentary as well.

I’m a shit driver but you’re agreeing with me? I’m sure the coppers who are trained for it are extremely good. I was thinking more of Johnny-just-bought-a-Porsche.

I once read a road test where they were trying to max out a lambo on an autobahn, but every time they wound it up, they had to brake cos there was another car somewhere in the distance. They just couldn’t get a clear bit of road long enough, even at 4am.

Fastest I've ever gotten away with driving is 90 and I was shitting bricks the whole time, I can't imagine driving 130 - that's f***ing mental. Can you even react that fast if something goes wrong?

Wow. That's just f***ing nuts to me. I don't think I have the concentration nor reaction time for that kind of speed.

No, not really. But what are you going to react to? If the car fails then you’re probably screwed at anything over 70. I did that at night on an straight, empty motorway. Dufficer can probably give you more insight into doing it in traffic.

And any excuse to post this again

Watched the video. Don’t get it, what am I supposed be seeing?

A lot of it is forward planning rather than simply reacting. If you are gaining on a car ahead just ease up a bit rather than race up to them then brake etc.

We all know you are a shit driver Dave, that but isn’t up for debate, again!

The concentration level needed though to drive at that speed. I just don't think I posses it. My hat's off to anyone who can drive at that speed.

Two jack the lads in a Porsche 911 being owned by an estate car.

I have to go for a driving assessment at work due to my high annual mileage, so I guess I’ll find out shortly

I drove in Germany at ~ 110 and it was hard work and required intense concentration. I also noticed how most of the accidents in Germany ended up way up the embankment at the side of the road.

IT IS FACEBOOK BOLLOCKS.

THIS ITEM COME UP REGULARLY EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS.
IT IS LIKELY TO CAUSE MORE ACCIDENTS THAN IT PREVENTS AS THE NAIVE ONES ON THE M25 BELIEVE THIS TOSH.

The yellow road side fixed cameras do work at about 78 and the gantry camers sometimes do work, especially when variable speed restrictions are in operation.
The average speed limit over the Dartford crossing is Normally operational.

I went on a speed awareness course about 3 years ago and I would say there was at least half a dozen people who had even done at Dartford crossing

I always change my number plates before heading down to the smoke.

Go as fast as I like and avoid the congestion charge.

Change them at Hemel Hempstead - there and back.

Mine's not.

They're fking idiots
