Post a pic of your axe

A piece of beauty..... your signature model!
It's not letting me post the pic now!
I had it made by Stephen Stern at the Gretsch Custom Shop about 4 years ago now. It was a one-off because I wanted the 6120 look and markings but always preferred the size of the Falcon. I'd be delighted if Gretsch decided to include it as an option but as yet, that's not happened so I doubt it will. I've always found the Falcon neck to be just a tad too wide for me but having said that, I take one with me on every gig here in the UK as a spare.

Oh, I can if I include it as a reply. Odd.

I'm obviously still dodgy for a bit longer.

I can only post using Flickr from my computer no longer from my phone.....

I know three chords but I don’t seem to be able to sound as good as you mate. What am I doing wrong?
:D 4 chords is Jazz in my book and I've always skipped that chapter. Clint Eastwood once said in a film that a good man always knows his limitations. He might well have been looking at me trying to work out a song with 4 chords when he said it...

I do, here she is.......one word "big".

5, I think altogether! 2 Falcons, 2 6120's and a 6-string baritone. And a Rancher acoustic. so 6!

And I forgot one - A Duo Jet. It has the Dynasonic pick ups and a fixed arm Bigsby. It's based on the original 1954 model and Gretsch only made a limited number a good few years ago. They have just brought out a Cliff Gallup model (Gene Vincent's original guitarist) but I think that goes for few grand but it's essentially the same guitar. The Jets are really versatile guitars and seem to be very popular these days.

Gretsch Guitars on Instagram: “#Gretsch #Custom G6134 1955 White Penguin Relic #guitars #officialgretschguitars #Gretschguitars”

They really can’t do any wrong atm mind

Currently very tempted to get a Kala U-Bass. Stopping myself as I really don’t need one and not sure where I’ll use it. There’s a decent looking sub solid body Kala on Facebook market place that has caught my eye.

Anyone got any experience of these?

Amazing guitar. The originals go for stupid money. I'd love one of those just for the novelty but I bet it plays and sounds amazing!

I couldn’t touch an original just for the anxiety that would come with it, so thank god for the reissue’s
I’m going to hunt down a falcon to try while I’m off graft like, only to hopefully get it out the system

I agree, those reissues are terrific guitars and an original would probably need to be kept in a bank vault. Which is a shame because they're meant to be played but some guitars are just too expensive to sod around with. With the Falcon, would you be happy with Dynasonics or Filtertrons?
