10%:lol:. Would the likely increases in attendance not cover the costs? I think someone might be under estimating how many will want to go. The no ST priority phase certainly suggests that.

They're clearly expecting more because they're selling two stands rather than one. It's really unknown territory, so it's probably very heard even to guesstimate the likely gate. Looking at the policing costs that were spoken about earlier this year (with ours being much higher than the Mags), the bill for this one could well be anywhere in the £50-100k range.

I bet 99% of Mags who come to the Chekatrade game don't go to their U21 games and if the shoe was on the other foot we would sell our allocation, which would include 99% that don't do our U21 games. The Mags will come to take the piss and I am certain if table were turned we would do the same

I couldn’t even be arsed to turn a TV on to watch the U21’s. Each to their own...

The mags allocation will be interesting. The police will simply not allow 3000 away fans to use public transport on a Tuesday night. Taking into consideration the ticket prices, it’s safe to say they will an allocation, but I wonder if they are being forced to put on free buses

I’m almost certain they’ll be getting 3000. Hopefully they do.

Got a wiff of the Celtic friendly this. Just put a ban the scruffy twats.

Piss off man yer boring get.
If we get a decent crowd which in term creates a fervent atmosphere, what’s not to like?

This. I go to our u23 games at the stadium when I can make it but wouldn't even think of travelling to Newcastle to watch our u23 side against theirs. In this situation, however, you bet your life I'd want to go. They'll see it as a chance to take the piss out of us, a chance they haven't had since we got relegated. If their side goes behind they won't really give a fuck since it's just the bairns and, crucially, loads would want to be there just in case they can win. Boot on the other foot I'd love to say I was there when Sunderland u21s beat Newcastle's first team in a competitive match. They can say it doesn't matter all they want (and in some ways for them it won't), but loads will want to be there, it's a no lose for them

Fair.
Folk who support will go its just the same as all the other cup games and pricing.

The standard moaners will always vent there spleen about the price.
Carry on.
I think we're normally pretty fair with ticket prices tbh, this though seems a tad excessive to me. I hope you can forgive me

Tweet from Mr Donald.

@stewartdonald3: I appreciate it has gone up but Newcastle have asked 4 a lot of tickets & the Police bill, stewarding & general cost of the game etc is so much more due to that than the other games. We have tried to keep it sensible & we r certainly not likely to make much money based on costs.

Honestly I'd just ban away fans. The extra income is massively outweighed by the near certain potential for it all to go tits up. Win, lose or draw, them fuckers will do anything they can to make a scene or some sort of incident, that will overshadow the game and be reported as 'rival fans clash' thus dragging our name down. The police and club won't treat it like a normal league derby between us and will have their guard down in my opinion, totally underestimating how much of a set of total trouble making charvers a high percentage of thier fans will be on the night. It'll be the worst mob they ever bring as thier tiny percentage of decent fans won't bother. There'll be hell on all owa the metro all afternoon in the middle of rush hour and no one will be responsible for managing it as 'it's just the u-23s / chekatrade trophy '. And if the worst happens and we get beat it will be unbearable. I understand I sound like a raging fanny, but i stand by it in this instance .
