Just Cause 4

I played the 3rd one cos I was bored and it was free on games with gold.

Surprisingly endless mindless fun and completed it.

4 has just come out but I'm not sure if it's worth parting with 50 quid for?

Anyone played it?

I loved 2 but really couldnt get away with 3.....havent tried 4. Sorry that was absolutely zero help.

I'd wait a couple of weeks and get it pre owned for 20 quid if I was you.

I'll be picking it up once it's reduced a bit. I loved the 3rd one. Not played the others.
Third one was fun for a while, but there’s no real progression in the games, what you do 30+ hours into it is exactly what you were doing 2 hours into it. It’s great for the first few sessions then it’s just a case of doing the same thing over and over and over and over etc. I’m not overly keen on the shooting mechanics either, feels a bit like a budget twin-stick shooter.

2 was really good, 3 was OK. I really hated that you couldn't aim down a weapons sight on the 3rd. They did patch it, but aiming down the sight couldn't be unlocked without quite a bit of effort so I got bored.

Yeah I know what your saying. That's why I wouldn't pay full price. My kids loved it.

The problem with the Just Cause franchise is that when you see someone play it on YouTube you think "Bloody hell that would be good to just mess around with" (as I did with 2 and 3) but the novelty wears off very quickly due to the shallowness of the game. That does not mean it is a bad game by any means it is just that if you are not that creative or want something deeper you are thinking it is all very good but what are the real consequences for nailling a civilian to a wall and then firing them off into space when they have no personality and are like mindless zombies who are willing to accept anything you do to them?, whereas GTA or Red Dead you can get yourself into some right doozies with the NPC's . It feels a bit hollow if you look past the sandbox mayhem imo.
