Vinyl in Charity Shops

I regularly do the rounds of the charity shops in Newton Aycliffe scouring for vinyl. Always see plenty of shite, including Roger Whittaker, Max Bygraves etc to name a few. Anybody found any classics kicking about?

Got a mint copy of Kate Bush , Hounds of love for £1 , a few years ago, now just crap so don't bother anymore , Oxfam charge going rates if not more.

Found a first edition copy of the Beatles Revolver in Hot Rats last week. I thought the owner was asking too much for it for £2.99, but he said if I came round to the shop this week dressed like Elvis Presley with my arse cut out he'd give it to me for free.

Last one I bought from a CS was Jimi Hendrix Purple haze on vinyl - I don't have a record player.

A mate of mine goes round charity shops and car boots looking for vinyl..told me he once popped into a charity shop in Consett and he came away with a load of Zeppelin..Hendrix..Sabbath..LP's all 1st editions all in good nick for their age..picked them up for buttons..he reckons the re emergence of vinyl has made folks a lot more aware of what's got any worth.

was down the newton aycliffe charity shops the other week and came across a stash of white label 12 inches there, had no idea what they were but filled me boots and took all twenty four of them mate. told the old wifey that they were probably misprints since they didn't have anything on the label but she held out for a fiver there. imagine me surprise when I got them home and realised they were all warp records promo releases from the likes of autechre, aphex twin, boards of canada, flying lotus and the like.

got a Tenessee Ernie Ford vinyl out of a charity shop for £1. its class

bought my lasses youngun a brand new One Direction album on Vinyl a few years back. was £20 or something. an awful object to have in the house

Too many memories for me, still have them. Arranged my LPs in alphabetical order last week for the first time ever. Only taken me 40 years.

Hopefully by artist and then by date of release. I had my vinyl in the back of a cupboard for years and threatened to flog it a number of times. Luckily my wife stopped me from doing so and I eventually bought a new turntable. It's almost all late 70's and early 80's, I can't believe I ever considered flogging it.
