Drinking on your own

Always have a few pints in the station if I'm travelling back from a meeting. I used to buy a paper and watch the world go by but now the laptop comes out and it's not quite the same.

I’m away on a training course for work and I’m thoroughly enjoying a couple of pints on my own just watching the world go by. I never ever get a minute to myself at home so I’m loving it to be honest.

Anyone a fan of drinking alone or is it considered a sad mans game?
Doing it now. I walk up to the village with my wife. She goes to her class and I am in the pub with my dog, paper and kindle. Couple of beers then collect her on the way back.

So it's not just politics you talk shite about.....
"Drinking alone on occasion and in moderation is not a dangerous habit. However, when alcohol is consumed in solitude on a more frequent basis, it can indicate a serious problem in some people. For example, if someone with a well-established social network is prone to having a drink alone, it could be indicative of depression or a breakdown of social interactions. Some people drink alone in an attempt to avoid questions or hide their alcoholic behavior from family and friends. Others turn to the solitary consumption of alcohol as an artificial way to overcome social anxiety. This behavior of having alcoholic drinks alone can easily turn into uncontrolled consumption of alcohol. While alcohol in moderation is safe, there is no denying the link between drinking alone and alcoholism."

Must just be politics mate.

Again, I'm not having a dig at anyone here. Quite the opposite. My intention was to inform people of the dangers of drinking home alone and the warning signs of alcoholism.

As I say drink has always been a thing I do with friends or the missus. I love a proper sup and will be in the pub at 5 tomorrow as I am seeing some mates I haven't seen for a while. I don't see the pub as somewhere to sit on your tod.
Drinking sociably.

Been back working away on my own for a few weeks now. The novelty of going for a pint on me todd has worn off. Love hitting the pub before getting me train back but the mid week nights I'd rather save me money now.

Netflix and youporn for me instead.

Do it all the time, tend to move from pub to pub rather than stay put, know loads of people out and about, acquaintances rather than mates, just chat to people as and when I feel like it, and move on when I feel like it.

Best thing in the world.

Drinking with mates is the best thing in the world.

Alone is enjoyable for a couple to have a read and listen in to what the locals are saying. I do it when I can and I'm what you would call young. Great chance to try new beers as well that you wouldn't drink on a session.

Quite enjoy getting to new pubs in the area and just seeing what the crack is, what the people discuss etc. It's nosey as can be but there's nothing wrong with that!

Any more than a couple though and it starts to feel sad unless you're meeting someone after or there's football on.
