Stockton town centre

Spebt an hour there today with some children from my school, taking part in a Xmas carol service. Not been there for many years but was really surprised by its decline, very few shoppers even at this time of year, very few notible high street stores and several undesirables. Genuinely a sad state of affairs.

Some days are really grim in the centre of Stockton. The Walking Dead seem to like a Friday.

Is it as bad as Redcar?
It's a shame the way town centres even small ones like Stockton have declined over the decades. The internet, unemployment, low wages and general poverty are the main reasons. It would help if parking was free and plentiful. Maybe free or very cheap buses from the centres outlying estates would help. It won't happen though.
