Labrador Retriever

Mine is 10 month. Love him to bits. Love his cheeky, naughty side but will he hell come back to me when he sees another dog.
Lost our 15yr old lab a year ago this weekend, and had another 15 yr old before him.

Was playing with a lab/husky cross pup last week. Cracking doggy.
Our husky is proper soft like. He looks like a wolf but thats where the resemblance to anything lupine ends. Only thing is that we can’t let him off a lead. He’d just leg it and never come back, even after nine years.

Who owns one on here? Good dogs? Looking at getting a puppy

I have, previous dog was an Akita and it’s a world of difference with the temperament (for the better). Although they’re nippy when you first get em, they’re sound to train and lovely natured. Mine gets a few mile walk/fetch everyday no matter the weather like or she tortures me but only fair.

Not a big fan. One next door to us is a massive radge packet and constantly barks and jumps up and snarls . But as others have said it's probably because they're just in the house on its own all day . Friend got a pup last summer and it's massively greedy. She keeps finding its scoffed something else and ends up with a 3 day belly ache. Definitely not the sort of dog you can leave for a period of time

Best in the World Mate.

Sound advice though. Go through a working dog breeder if you can. Decent pedigree etc.
They are stronger and less prone to typical Lab issues of weight gain, arthritis etc.

This one in picture is 40 kg of pure muscle and soft as anything.
Was the biggest in the litter and Dad and Mum both Working Dogs.
Dad Fox Red and a Field Champion and Mum Golden. Met his Mum and was in the pen (barn) with her and the puppies. She was an absolute beauty and had no problem with me in with the puppies.

Labs are clever, loyal and a wonderful temperament.
Easy to train.

You won’t regret it.
Like everything there is no guarantee. Mine is 14months old, bought from a farm up in the hills. The grandfather, father and mother were all there, all good pedigrees. They are all champion workers on the shoots. Yet my poor lad is getting his hip replaced next month.
Make sure you get insurance, we did which is just as well because the op and all the scans and stuff are going to cost around £7k in total.

Don't regret getting him though, he's a handful but full of life. Gets me out of the house for walks. Looking forward to next summer when he should be fully recovered and we can get on some proper long walks in the lakes and such.

Give him a big cuddle from me.

If you want a dog just go to the kennels and rescue one. Most dogs I've been around that were paid for have been absolutely shite.

Onto my second black lab now, lost first one at 11 Yr old. He was mint really well behaved but a little get for first two year. Never on a lead and not greedy.
My new one is one year old and just starting to settle down. Good thing with them is they are clever so easy to train.

Never had one, but the fact they’ve been top of the list of owned dogs, and by some margin, for decades in the UK tells you all you need to know.

Ive has two in the past. Great dogs, very intelligent, but they are the greediest breed ive ever come across.
Wonderfull dogs if you have kids.
They can also suffer with joint problems, you can end up loosing them whilst still under ten years old.
