How much do you spend on hobbies?

Safc - season ticket and pint at half time £400
5 a side - 200 a year
Cycling - coast to coast and replacing maybe 1 worn out part a year 200
Gaming - get all my games for the year for Xmas, so nowt.
Porn collecting - a new hard drive every year £10

Triathlon.

The initial outlay is steep, but once the bike, wetsuit and runners are bought it’s just a case of buying when you need to. I go through a pair of runners every year....luckily I’ve found a shop in Singapore that sell the ones I use fairly cheaply...and we go there every year. Inner tubes. I can go through five or six one year and none the next. I’ve had the same goggles for the last four years. Pool cost is around $7 per swim but a season card brings the price down. Gels for the long bike rides taste like shite but as I’m not doing long distance tri’s at the moment I’ve still got some from three years ago.
I’m also lucky that having needed to get a new wetsuit I won one as a spot prize at a tri two years ago.

A few hundred per year on musical instruments.

£20 per month gym but I never go.

£20-£50 per year finding out about Aliens.

£50 per year buying Charity shop tat.

About £100 per year on watching safc.

I used to do anywhere between 50-100 per month on Marvel and Image when I was a ‘serious’ collector. I give up with a heavy heart when kids came along.
Always insanely tempted to get back in but genuinely concerned it would spiral out of control !!

I am still a Marvel Collector about 18 years ago my average monthly bill was around £100 a month, it did start to get a bit out of control and had to make an effort to cut it down and gave it up for a few years, but then it creeped back into my life again.

Wife saw my bill this afternoon, she turned around said “you can get your comics, so long as I can get my hair done each month”

Fancied getting into triathlon last year but the cost put me off , talking £1000 minimum for a half decent bike and the race costs are steep also

Haway man you’re not trying out for the Olympics.
I got a basic Diamondback road bike for triathlons and training. Think it was about $500 (but the company chipped in $300 IIRC) and it works out fine. I usually win my age group so must be doing something right. I see younger blokes on those weird looking TT bikes and laugh as I pass them.

The only thing I could really class as a hobby is my love of Physics. Been studying it for around 18 years. Apart from a few books I bought years ago, which in total cost less than £100, it hasn't cost me a penny.

I'm also a bit of a filmbuff but I'm a pirate (Arrrr) so that costs nowt. The last DVD I bought was The Matrix Trilogy back in 2001/2002.

Following on from the other “look at me” threads. Got me thinking what do I spend most of my money on.

Fishing is the answer.
At least £50 a week in bait and Comp fees.

The biggest single item being £3k fishing pole.
Rods for £500
Reels £200 ish
I may even have a count up later of stuff I have (they have their own house)

So may rainy day question is what’s your hobby and how much does it cost. I think a lot of people will get a shock when they start adding it up.
Naked earthworm hunting, cost fcuk all.

Any decent docs on aliens ? Seen all of Dr Stephen Greer’s

I actually don't have a hobby. Used to play golf but when I won the monthly medal I gave up for some reason.
Would love to build a proper model railway from scratch and spend time doing the scenery etc and no it won't be a train set
