What's the most you'd pay for an item of clothing. ?

This got me thinking as my brother has just forked out £500 for a moncler jacket.
I genuinely was shocked , really nice don't get me wrong but 500 beans , madness.
I'd say , 100 quid on trainers if I really liked them and they were going to last.

Well...
I paid £550 in Harvey Nics in Edinburgh a few weeks ago for a Canada Goose jacket a few weeks back, they gave me a scratch card after you purchase and I won £250 ! I couldn’t get it off the jacket but the Mrs (no) used it downstairs on a handbag

Horrendous attitude to Animal cruelty like - folk who wear them will be getting the same grief soon as the women who wore furs a few years back.
I give them 5 yrs tops till they go bust as people will shun them soon.backlash starting already - whose gonna pay 1k for a coat which you know have cruelly killed animals ?

Is there a reason why they can’t us faux fur? We’ve just bought the kids penfield down jackets and they come with real or faux hood trim and we went for faux. Sure they’ll not be as good at heat retention but unless you’re in -40 would you really notice the difference

I have no filter when it comes to jackets unfortunately but like to think that bought well, they are an investment for a good few years to come and that justifies the cost (in my head anyway).

Just really pushed the boat out on a Stone Island shadow project sacarabeo parka which is f***ing bananas yet functional at the same time.

That said, while the jacket might be 4 figures, the overshirt beneath could well be £15 from Sainsburys!
£99.99?

I'm sure one of the lady posters may admit to paying an amount for shoes or a handbag that will make our eyes water. :D

£80 for two pairs of jeans, nut I'm a skinflint. I'll admit couple of hundred quid for a decent interview suit, but as that's an essential spend then does that really count?

Without sounding like a right arse hole (not really bothered like) I could probably afford more than what I spend. I very rarely spend decent money on myself. I do a lot of fake online shopping where I put a few things in the basket then close the webpage and don’t bother.
I get it. I do that in shops. Carry stuff around then think about it and put it back.

They do mate. You have a choice.
They mainly produce clothing for places that kill these animals as pests. I’m reality they are a cracking company who help numerous charity’s including polar bear conservation. They supply communities in the cold with materials free to make their own clothing.

Ah...ok, not providing an alternative in this day and age would seem a little odd.

Don’t lie you mug you buy your t-shirts from Next and admitted it on here.

I have got t shirts from next, and if you remember I explained explicitly that they were for layering up, in the same thread possibly even same post I explained that i had some ralph Lauren ones I'd wear if it was going to be visible.

The thread is what is the most you'd pay, not what do you frequently pay.

My sister paid a grand for a coat, but it was a necessity if that doesn't sound stupid. She's over in Canada and the brutal temperatures mean you have to have a Canada Goose coat as the rest just don't cut it. I think I'd vomit blood if I had to fork out that much for a coat.
Most I've paid is about £300 for a suit.

Depends
Coats boots jeans etc show their quality £100 t shirts are lost on me
I've spent a lot on technical clothing ( motorbike gear)

very fortunate that due to work I get a lot of clothing as a perk of the job.
When I do spend it’s always when sales are on as it’s standard now for most places to go straight in at between 30 and 50%. Online promos are plentiful so you’re mad to pay full price these days. There’s constantly either Black Fridays, half term sale, mid season sale, Easter sales etc etc you’re never more than 3-4 weeks away from getting something reduced.

Just paid £285 for a CP coat, was in a flash sale, normally £355 which was too rich for me. Had my eye on it for a while so happy enough with the price, it’ll be the last coat I buy for a fair few years.

£650 for a Burberry trenchcoat, that was after a 50% discount through a friend.
£270 for a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers.

Think those are my most costly items of clothing and footwear respectively.
