England in Sri Lanka Red Ball

He's come across as a complete c*nt since the summer IMO.

Complete Kernt might be a bit harsh I agree with your sentiment.

All I needed him to say in his interview today was "I'm made up to be back in the 11 no matter my position. Yes I would prefer to wicky as well but Ben has the gloves atm and done really well since he's come in so the onus us on me to get them back with good performances."

Instead of the "no one should talk about me or question me, I've had a tough life and work really hard." Shite we got. Yes Jonny you're so picked on. Not.

Got any links?

In the interview, he sounded pretty salty about losing the gloves and saying there were going to be 'conversations'. 100 or not, I'd rather England didn't pick people who hold the team to ransom.

2:55 into the video.

You always want your players to show pride and passion playing for their country, but that was way over the top.

Can't find any - but I saw it on Sky. Was very aggressive - he sort of screamed and then pointed at the media. Also thought to myself - he's raising his blood pressure a bit here, bet he gets out in the next couple of overs. Which he did.

Wasn't aware of his quotes. Don't understand his behaviour at all, really don't. He's got nowhere near as much England credit in the bank as the lad he's been brought back into the team with for this test, has he? But I bet we won't see such histrionics from Broad. It's Mourinho style antics - what is he doing?

Literally everyone else in the team would have reacted the way you suggest. Even Anderson has been magnanimous recently.

Look at Buttler, or Ali, or Curran, or Woakes. Constantly getting moved around or dropped because we have so much talent in there. That's competition and its fantastic. All of the other lads get their heads down and go out of their way to praise their teammates doing well.

And look at Stokes. If anyone has reason to gesticulate at the media or the ECB management, or whoever, its him. But we've had no such nonsense.

UPDATE, maybe this explains it: "Two people that I know have passed away in the past couple of weeks," said the Yorkshireman. (From BBC).

Sounds like he's holding Yorkshire to ransom as well. No idea where It's come from, used to come across as a great lad, but in the last 6 months he's been acting a kernt I agree

:lol::lol:

You never fail to surprise me

So that’s both Bairstow and Stokes who should be dropped

Thank fuck they don’t listen to you

Did you see his celebration? Absolutely bizarre.

Yes, exactly.

Tend to agree. It's faster, bouncier turn - which is more difficult to deal with over five days than the slow, low stuff we had the last two games. When it dries out and really starts to rag its going to be an absolute minefield.

Batting fourth on this will not be pretty.

Of course, I find the comments on this thread absolutely bizarre and really poor to be honest.

As someone said earlier this forum seems more happier when we are losing

I wouldn't drop him, but someone needs to have a word.

I agree with all that. Its not nice having people you know pass on but that doesn't mean he should eradicate humility from his character. His interview was very poor from a teammate perspective. He shouldve mentioned Ben Foakes like PM said.

f***ing arrogant yorkie kernts..........

Passion, determination, that drive to prove people wrong coupled with skill

Only in England would people have a problem with that. Bizarre

So you found nothing wrong with his behavior today? We all love passion. But he overstepped the mark today imo.

He was the first one to congratulate Foakes

And has been the model team mate and 12th man if you actually listened to the players and management talk

I loved the celebrating exactly 100% what I want to see from a player

Reminded me of Nasser’s, another class player for England

Are we aussies like?

We like to win with a bit of class please. Thank you very much. Bairstow apart from his batting didnt show any class whatsoever with his antics.

I havent really got a problem with his celebration. Like you say good to show passion. But his interview was so poor and self absorbed.

No it didn’t and I find it utterly bizarre that you think it did

 Ffs man

Then I's sorry mate, then you too need to learn a bit of good old British class. He went on like a guilted fiancée schoolboy.

I mean old British class? No offense but comments like this are beyond parody

He’s exactly the character you need in this cricket team and I’m fuckin delighted that’s he proved people wrong AGAIN

The basic problem, which I already put as well as I can tbh, is that he seems to feel entitled to the shirt.

Where on earth does his sense of grievance come from? He was injured. The lad who came in for him was man of the match. Where's the injustice here?

Why's he pissed off with the media too? The only reason they were saying he should move up the order is because a) the lad who came in had played really well; and b) they were trying to crowbar him into the team! They wanted him in the team - that's the whole point of the debate?!

His obsession with the gloves is unnatural. There are players in this team who do anything for it - move around the order, sit out the odd test, take all sorts of worse pelters than he has.

Where is his sense of grievance from? It's difficult to fathom - and therefore, quite a lot of us, clearly, assume it stems form entitlement. He feels entitled to the shirt - well nobody f***ing is.

He should count his lucky stars his name isn't Pietersen - or he'd be taking pelters from the media about this for behaviour like this for nigh on seven years. He's had it easy compared to some in the media - Cook, Stokes, Flintoff. Honestly, don't understand him.

Its absolutely nothing to do with entitlement.

Trying to compare that with the things Pietersen has done man

You seem to have it in for him for some reason, don't you say its attitudes like this which is exactly why he celebrated the way he did

good on him, I absolutely loved, as I say reminded me of Nasser, 2 characters you'd want in your team 100 times out of 100 when you are going into a test match
