Marijuana

Hash finances third-world terrorists - I'm shocked the OP would support something like that.

I prefer LSD - a nice Christian drug.

Quack.

Strong stuff this acid.
So that's where all the gravel in the garden has been going, a duck billed platypus has been eating it.

It is legal in 10 U.S states now after last nights elections, not just for medicinal purposes but recreationally.

It is now legal to smoke weed in cities such Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Seattle and Detroit.

Surely it won't be long till it's legal in the rest of the western world? I certainly would be for legalising it, selling it in cafes and taxing it.

In the interest of balance I have included this short trailer demonstrating how evil weed is.
"You will see the ease with which this vicious plant can be grown in your neighbours yard, rolled into harmless looking cigarettes"
Legal here in Canada

I'm fine with legalization of THC, but I'm not a fan of public smoking. San Francisco is just disgusting these days. The BART absolutely reeks of weed smoke, and a lot of the strains people smoke are strong AF. I've gotten high several times just from riding public transportation (and once just from walking around). I, like almost all Americans, can get fired for failing a drug test. I'd rather not, and I'm quite sure I'd fail a drug test if I took one today even though I haven't intended to consume drugs in years.
I smoke weed but only the privacy of my own home (actually my backyard, I refuse to smoke it in the house) I have a problem with public smoking of any kind - weed or tobacco - I think it's rude and inconsiderate.

i think most drug use should be treated as health issues rather than criminal, best way to regulate and provide safety controls. the number one reason for legalising pot in the states for my mind is to put an end to the tedious american stoner culture.

fancy legalizing weed in a country that elected Trump:lol:

You have picked up some bad habits from discussing politics on here marra, stick to aliens marra at least everyone looks forward to hearing about the aliens.

What bad habits? Just because a subject is unpalatable doesn't mean we shouldn't discuss it. Especially when it's relevant.

Did you hear about the wifey MP in charge of whether Cannabis being legal or not, her husband is the largest grower of legal in the UK?

Tory MP tasked with regulating drugs has husband that grows 45 acres of cannabis

Vested interest?

When you see the amount of violent crime associated with the distribution of MJ it's really a no brainer to legalise it, there are a LOT of people who would be proper fucked money wise if they did this.

 Turning up stoned in the morning in my line of work. Would make things a lot less dull.

My colleague at the Bronx VA almost lost his job over a seeded breakfast bagel.

While I'm pro-legalisation, this is a bit of a fantasy. They would simply undercut the licensed distributors, or move on to more damaging drugs/crimes.

It would massively undermine their operations, the price point that was set would (tax permitting) be subject to competition and there would be cheaper and more expensive. Plus whats to stop everyone growing it themselves, if the criminality were taken away there would be a hugely reduced criminal/gang aspect to the whole thing.

Interesting to note that in the history of mankind no one ever died of a cannabis overdose.

Maybe not. But I bet a few have died as a result of what they have done after taking cannabis and more than a few will have gone loopy Ultimately though its almost certainly a safer drug that alcohol which is of course legal

Best of luck to anyone who works in mental health, plenty of new cases for you to deal with.

If they’re not abusing marijuana, it’ll be something else. Why should everyone be punished because a few people can’t do something in moderation?

Best ban alcohol, that costs the taxpayer an absolute fortune. In fact, ban the consumption of everything that isn’t salad and water.

They will if it’s legal..

...and they don’t at the moment cos it’s illegal?
Morons will always be morons, just like drink drivers.

I predict legalising cannabis will have a much smaller effect on its use than people think. Most of those who want to use it are probably already using it, I doubt many people want to try it but won’t because it’s illegal.
It will simply decriminalise people who are using it and bring it out into the open. The primary method of using cannabis, smoking it, will likely put a lot of people off trying it. Smokers are pariahs these days.

We went to view a house about 2-3 years ago, one of the reasons we didn't put an offer in was one of the bedrooms absolutely stunk of weed. It was an older couple selling and clearly, their son had quite a fondness for it. The house is still for sale actually.

As far as legalising it goes, I think smoking tobacco and weed should have the same laws, only is designated public places such as smoking shelters and in privately owned homes that do not have under 18s living there. With weed having similar laws to drink driving.

There was a bullshit article on the BBC website today about a man that tried to smother his baby to death. The blame, on the use of cannabis.
