Paraplegic man drags himself through airport

I would rather get pushed than drag myself through a bloody airport trying to be some kind of "wheelchair martyr".
He didn't, he would rather make a point that in 2018 it isn't unreasonable to think an international airport would have a self propelled wheelchair for when one of their fuckwit staff lose or damage their own wheelchair. Like other airports do

Calm down fella, I did't take his wheelchair ffs.

Fair play to the lad, life has dealt him a bad hand but he's made the best of it and achieved great things.

He's stuck by his principles and should be applauded for that. If an airport of that size can't provide a decent wheelchair in this day and age then they shouldn't be in business.

But they wouldn’t have needed them. The mistake that was made was that they accidentally lost his wheelchair.

If my bags went missing I wouldn’t expect the airport to have a bag made up of my specific wardrobe.

I find it amazing that on reading a story like that, the first thing people pick up on is that 'He's a dick' or words to that effect. Failing to focus on the incompetence of airport staff.

Have a read back through the thread and other than myself there's been very few (If any) who have picked up on that

Attention seeking w**ker , was offered a perfectly acceptable solution given the situation. Claiming they should have a specific chair for his type of condition for the sake of shuttling someone across a few arrival/baggage halls....joke.

Hope the airport charge him for misusing a baggage trolley if I'm honest. What about the old couple who won't have been able to carry their baggage thanks to him using it incorrectly despite turning down the normal option. I bet they feel degrading having to ask a randomer to carry their baggage as a result.

Yes I know fella, but there were options available rather than having to make a scene etc. He will of course have to hope his chair is found or make some kind of insurance claim.

Your missing wardrobe wouldn't prevent you from leaving the airport independently

When I read the story my first thought was what an attention seeking bellend. But then it's easy for me to say given I'm relatively healthy and have my own independence.

But then putting myself in his position I can see why he's annoyed. I wouldn't want to pushed around either, especially though no fault of his own. Granted I wouldn't scoot around the airport on the floor just to prove a point, but I'd be pissed off.

Listened to this on the radio, sounded like a upper class lah-de-dah with a sack o' tatties on his shoulders being obstreperous. Refused the option of a pushed wheelchair as it would make him feel embarrassed. Decided to crawl on the floor x yards to prove a point. Hey. look at me, etc.
It seems the airport tried all they could, apart from either waiting for the flight to return (hours), or order a another of his specialised, personolised chair to facilitate his homeword journey.
Unless there's more of the story to come out, it's a non- story facilitating the current obsession with minorities.
I hope he loses and has to pay the airport's legal fee's
