Just ordered myself one of these: Retro Gaming Box PRO -11,000 games
Anyone got one/had one? Any good? People’s thought on these in general. Haven’t done any gaming since selling my PS4 and xbone few month back now. Was going to get a decent gaming laptop but never ended up getting one. Looking forward to getting this hopefully is as good as it looks.

Seems a bit pointless to me. At an average of 2 games played a day it’ll take you 15 years to give them all a decent go.

Better off getting a Pi to pick choose what you actually wanna play.

seems you just buying an expensive Pi, I bought a Pi second hand for £35 from gumtree fully loaded with emulators and games

£170? f***ing hell mate you've been done there.

raspberry pi is £35 and the software is free to download - a couple of hours googling would get you a better system than that.

I'm in the wrong job - even knocking them out for £100 you'd still be making a ton of profit on each one.

Back of a fag packet costs:

£35 for the pi
£25 for the memory card
£20 for the pads
£10 for the HDMI cable and charger
£5 for the case

Around £95, hell of a mark up.

My only bugbear with this type of thing is that 10,900 of those games will never get touched.

Tbf if the op plays on it a lot he's not been done. If he gets 1000 hours out of it he can't complain. You are right though, he could have knocked one up himself with less bloat.

Might start knocking them out for £120 - not with that many games on though! yeah 11,000 games is way over board.

Class, that’ll teach me for diving in head first. Says on 100% money back guarantee might try and blag it and get a refund. Where would I get a decent raspberry pi? And are they difficult to pre load? I’ve used kodi before on my firestick and managed to teach myself (ie watching YouTube) to pre load, I take it this is pretty much the same?

I put an emulator on my iMac and downloaded the entire library of the NES, SNES, master system and mega drive. I spent a few hours going “FUCK... I remember that game....it was brilliant...” then loading up said game and spending a few minutes realising that every single one of them was best left to my memory.
I do this most years

I have a Pi that someone made me. It's really good and has thousands of games on. A couple of games I spent a lot of time on, such as Zelda for the SNES but largely if a game got more than 5 minutes it was doing well.

Fun though.

I don’t know what any of that means tbh. I avoided FF games altogether, they always seemed the preserve of the nerdy virgin, and in my teenage years I (foolishly) viewed myself in the lesser-nerd echelons of videogame participation. Never played a single JRPG, save for a few hours on Ocarina of Time on my N64, but I was in university by then and a good few years out of virginity!

I have a file that has 80,000 games. I love it. I play the PS4 after work for like an hour but the PI is my go to when I’m having a drink in the house.

Not all of them. I spent hours on loads of them.
ghost and goblins, Mario 3, another world, moonstone, elite 2, wings, I could go on.

There is a few that I’d load up and think “why the fuck did I like this”

It’s a lot harder than a kodi box, but still not too difficult. There’s loads of help on YouTube (that’s how I learnt)

For what you'll actually play you could have done it yourself for less that half of that.

Probably just a raspberry pi, it will run old games fine, not tried PS1 games on one though.
If I want to play the DS, and PS games I have to speed the system up. Then when I want to go back to say the amiga I need to slow it down again. It’s not hard but annoying as fuck when i forget

get one from amazon for £33 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Raspberry-...qid=1542122885&sr=8-3&keywords=raspberry+pi+3

Get a decent sized micro SD card for it.

The grab the retro pie image for it from here Download - RetroPie

and then use this guide First Installation - RetroPie Docs

What you should have then is a bootable emulator system without ROMs. Once you get to that stage you just need to google for ROM sites and away you go.

That'll be £120 please ;)

EDIT - forgot to add you will want a decent usb charger for it - if you have an old android phone charger it should work - failing that get the official one for about £6.
