Not sure why you are dragging him into this.

I have faith in the manager and the last thing I'd want is to see him removed.
You seriously think no other manager on the planet could have improved on those results? Not one draw into a win, not one loss into a draw?

I have said it a few times on different threads but why do they expect a manager who is most likely leaving in the summer to get a boat load of money to spend when the players he's buying might not be what an incoming boss wants?
It also makes them a less attractive option to tempting a good manager in if whatever budget he has has been blown, and if Rafa's recent purchases are anything to go by they will be shite!
The funny thing is whoever eventually replaces him won't be able to fill his boots in their minds. So nobody will be good enough.

Rafa's just playing for the £6 million pay off so he can walk away with full pockets and his reputation with the mag fans in tact, but the knuckle draggers are to dumb to see it.

Said it loads of times Benitez is a good manager and a brilliant politician. Like all politicians he gets found out eventually.
I do think he is a decent coach and does improve players, his buying record though is a bit scattergun. Like many managers he relies in a network of people to identify players, some good, some shite and some whatever.
Other than his ability to create his own legend he is no different to many many other managers who have been on the circuit for 20 years.

It wasn't a corner yesterday that lead to the goal. Last week they should have had a pen when a free kick hit a defenders raised arm in the box.

Wonderful.

I’ve seen a few on social media calling him out on it to be fair. It’s no small coincidence that ever since Graham Carr has left, after Rafa wanting full control over signings, that their level of bargain signings had majorly dipped. Granted they were buying a lot from the French leagues, but the resales value from some of the players Carr had scouted, was the reason their fans were banging on about ‘Net spend’.

It’s that ‘Net spend’ argument that kills me. McClaren was backed financially and he bought shit. That money was then recycled through sales and given to Benítez, who bought shit. They seem to think just cos Benítez wasn’t first that he’s blameless.
He could be the first manager to take them down twice from the PL. They’ll probably sack him then put up a statue of him.

Come January, they will probably be asking Big Sam to come in and perform another rescue act.

In fairness to @mad cyril he accepts that Rafa is on a par as a manager with Pardew.

I’m sure other mags must be coming round to that way of thinking now.

The majority I know think he’s been up and down since day 1.
A relegation, promotion, top 10 and probably another relegation is very much bang average.
Regardless of any owner situation, any manager who has returned 2 points from 27 has to take a lot of responsibility
