Looking at FSW's spending at Nufc on permanent signings.

Total = £124.4 million.

Per Season Average = £41.4 million.

Signings:

2016:
Sels, Gayle, Ritchie, Gamez, Hayden, Hanley, Clark, Diame, Yedlin, Murphy, Lazaar.

2017:
Atsu, Lejeune, Murphy, Manrillo, Joselu, Merino.

2018:
Dubravka, Schar, Muto, Fernandez.

Ritchie 12m, Murphy 12m, Gayle 10m, Muto 9.5m.

Cannot believe how poor these signings are and how they rate the useless twat. He did the same at Liverpool FFS.

Long may he stay lol.

& agent Ashley too

When they get relegated again I'm thinking of starting up a petition to grant them freedom of Sunderland

I know for a fact Rafa has turned down the chance of signing players for a decent amount too bring in his own players for a lot less. Allowing him to continue playing the no funds card.

He is a fraud and playing the fans an absolute belter, if I didn't hate them so much, I'd actually feel sorry for them.

It amazes me how the press haven't started questioning him part from Keys & Gray

Anyone else would've been slated

I watched the whole match on a stream. It looked like an even game and quite a good one up until Glenn Murray got knocked out by a foul. Then the challenges eased off a bit and that suited Newcastle. Newcastle did have a lack of creative quality but did not look like a relegation team.

Bruno was right about the crowd turning though, as in the last ten minutes Brighton had two very good chances and it could have been 0-3. Most of the time Newcastle played a possession game which was very good defensively. Brighton got a shot of luck with a goal bound shot by Izquierdo getting a double deflection. Most of the Newcastle shots were no hopers from out of the box, although a Shelvey one missed by inches.

If they get rid of Rafa they will go down, and they might only make 17th, but I think they will sneak out of it.
That's what I saw. They desparately need 4 wins out of an easyish run before Xmas or they're fucked . Don't think they will get them, their usual luck has deserted them. He he he he !

Still don’t understand why he sold Mitrovic and Gayle. Because they don’t fit his system? What system? The losing without scoring system?

Joking apart, that's a serious point and a question I've asked a few people.

Even non-Mags will refer to Rafa's clever tactics and game plan, well I've watched football for 50 years and I'm buggered if I can see what they are.

I watched MOTD and I still can't work out what is going on. Goal attempts seem to be to avoid having to beat Brighton's defence by firing in pot shots which the keeper easily dealt with.

When you have players like Perez, Joselu & Muto who seem incapable of reading a game you won't get the follow up goals from those shots. Brighton seemed happy to defend knowing Newcastle would find it difficult to get behind them. Benitez bought Ritchie & Murphy, presumably to do that and put in crosses but got rid of Mitrovic and Gayle. I've been told, by Mags on here, that Perez is a 'Benitez kind of player' with the technical abilities and intelligence he admires ... I think he's a lightweight piece of shit who doesn't have the courage to get stuck in and risk ruffling his hair do.

What's needed, in a relegation battle, are battlers. Benitez seems to believe that goes against his principles and he'll only do it his way.

They're in real trouble and it can't all be blamed on that nasty Mr Ashley.

Rafa’s leading signing played exceptionally well yesterday. Gave away the ball that lead to the corner for Brighton’s winner and then missed a free header.

No wonder Ashley doesn’t give him more money, he is shite at recruitment.

Reminds me of David Moyes more and more. Can defend in numbers and make it difficult for top sides to score but as soon as they play sides around them/below them where they are actually expected to do more than just suffocate teams defensively they crumble.

I always think it’s quite easy to look organised defensively when defending in high numbers playing the odd long ball counter attack but to find balance is what sets good managers apart. Both him and Moyes are hopeless at it.

Unless they pick up a number of wins in the next few games, they could be cut adrift by Christmas. Then there’s a big issue for them.

Come January, if they are cut adrift.. you reckon Ashley is going to invest £50m+ with no guarantee to keep them up? Even if he does and it doesn’t work that’ll mean more £ down the drain.

Very much doubt he’s gonna spend more £ in the championship either so it all looks very bleak.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

If this team had been assembled by any other manager they would calling for his head.

And rightly so. But because it's rafa who for some unknown reason can't do no wrong they aren't.

Fact.

The best players in that side, goalie apart, are the ones he didn't sign.

Pardew made better signings and got more out of the poorer players.

He was a knob but he was capable of changing games they were losing, Benitez is like a fly in a conservatory ...

... no matter how many times he crashes into the glass he just keeps doing it without looking for a better way out.

the scum are blaming the ref but mutu was the start of the goal, terrible pass to play the scum defender into bother, looks poor for £9 million but will live of his goal at MU for 4-5 month's even tho it was purely shocking defending more than anything, perez:):):):):):) i just cannot see what he has going for him,at the back they are not to bad and wont concede a lot but midfield and forward they are proper pap, khazri, defoe, mvilla,a focused Kone,PVH would stand out in that team.
